Does Renner want you to know this?

by:  Diane Benjamin

Tari Renner is going to spend your money on downtown Bloomington!  He isn’t open to any discussions or debate.  Renner fervently believes Bloomington will cease to exist unless people move downtown.

Hint Tari:  Call some votes for spending more downtown – it will make it much easier to defeat your potted plants next year!  I guarantee City elections next year will be referendum on turning downtown into Uptown (including the price tag!)

If you haven’t heard Renner’s despicable attitude toward “strip malls”, see it here.  He has said the same thing more than once (repeat the same lie over and over until people believe it)  I bet Renner has lost the strip mall developer vote!

.

News flash Tari:  The new Hyvee store is in (horror of horrors!) a strip mall!

My favorite store, Bed Bath and Beyond is in a STRIP MALL!  If it was downtown I wouldn’t go.

Want more proof Renner has his own agenda and doesn’t care what you think?  This email from last November was sent to me.  Renner is responding to a citizen who questioned what he was doing leasing property around downtown:

I’m just getting back to my emails after being in LA. I think it is absolutely essential that we acquire these lots and as much strategic property as we can in and around downtown. That’s the primary means by which all successful city renewal happens.
Best,
Tari

Back in 2012 I extensively analyzed what Normal did to develop Uptown. This post sums up a lot of the spending: http://blnnews.com/2012/07/03/who-gave-normal-permission-to-buy-give-away-properties/

Since Tari has a man-crush on Koos, it looks like he is doing the same thing.

The citizens of Normal didn’t stop Koos.  Will the citizens of Bloomington stop Renner?  You are running out of time.  Contact your alderman and Renner if you care.  Otherwise, Renner isn’t stopping.

  1. The political science professor’s understanding of sociology and economics is poor. It;s too bad for the citizens of Blm that he is their mayor.

  2. “…I think it is absolutely essential that we acquire these lots and as much strategic property as we can in and around downtown. That’s the primary means by which all successful city renewal happens.” Best,Tari * What Mr. Transparency leaves out,,,AND to do so, we will raise taxes on the citizens to pass the savings on to preferred developers that will play our game to benefit “our” vision that “we” (were sold on, drank the kool-aid) believe will create a pedestrian friendly, bicycle heaven, Agenda 21 (conspiracy theory) utopia, my legacy. After I leave here I will be the next $300K president of a local university and the big man on campus riding around in my Vette while the rest of you all pedal briskly to stay warm. Or something like that.
