Want a hotel in downtown Bloomington?

by:  Diane Benjamin

Petitions are now available in both Bloomington and Normal to run for City Council.  So far nobody has taken petitions to run against Karen Schmidt, David Sage, and Joni Painter.  If you REALLY can’t wait for a hotel, at your expense, don’t run.

There is still lots of time.  Petitions don’t need to be filed until November.  Obviously it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to be on the Council.  It takes common sense, like not agreeing to the lowest bid because the City can’t afford more – ie: parking garage and fire station.  How about demanding oversight of the Coliseum?  How about not raising 3 taxes all at once?  How about not raising property taxes next year when spending cuts aren’t considered?  How about not telling the public the City has hired 120 people in the last 3 years?  How about representing your Ward instead of Renner and Hales?  The list is endless.

Normal:  Do you really want more money spent on Uptown?  How much is enough?  How many of your taxes and fees have been increased?

You have lots of reasons to shut down the Renner and Koos agenda.  Start counting them: $$$$$$$

It would be tragic if the potted plants on both Councils are able to run unopposed!

Conservative candidates will have backup for this election.  Email me, we can talk:  [email protected]
