Vogel’s covers for Renner

By:  Diane Benjamin

Little Stevie is upset that he was FORCED to disclose his family connections with Bloomington’s mayor.  He NEVER would have informed readers on his own if I hadn’t called him out!

Hey Steve – If you fail to disclose every time you write about the City of Bloomington that your DAUGHTER was Renner’s campaign manager twice, I will continue to point it out.  Some people might accidentally mistake you for an impartial journalist.  You Aren’t.  (both impartial or  journalist)

The evidence is in Vogel’s column today.  It wasn’t more than a couple weeks ago that Vogel called for massive changes to Bloomington’s Public Comment rules so speech the Council doesn’t like gets squashed.  Renner gladly complied with a less than thought out plan.  Renner’s Rats (Aldemen Buragas, Painter, Hauman, and Black) were eager to distinguish dissent. After almost an hour of nonsense debate, nothing happened.  The Rats, Renner, and Vogel showed their total lack of respect for all citizens who wish to addresses THEIR government!  Happy July 4th!

Today Vogel pretends he investigated the issues.  Since bird-cage liner staff is incapable of investigation, they read articles here.  Fearing lawsuits, Vogel now thinks the Council should just “check their email” during public comment and ignore any speech they don’t like.   Nice Stevie!  Telling public servants to ignore people they don’t like is brilliant!  Very American.

Since Vogel’s column don’t print themselves, somebody at the rag had to approve it.  Today the Pantagraph proved they have no regard for any citizen not fully on board with the nonsense Renner spews.  The Pantagraph is merely a shill.

If any readers here are still subscribing, you are encouraging their assault on you.  If you advertise with them, you are just as guilty.

Maybe if they lose enough money, Bloomington-Normal can get real local media.

Maybe the Edgar County Watchdogs can open a branch here.  Next time Stevie, give the source credit for your “research”.

  1. EVERYONE have a safe and happy 4th, and IF you have one-FLY THE FLAG! IF you don’t, THANK a veteran when you see one. CHEERS!

  2. If not for the sales flyers the local bird cage liner would probably die off as the reporting continues to be biased, misleading, and generally average only uplifted by feel good distraction articles such as fairy gardens and such.

    1. That’s a pretty sad commentary on the state of journalism if the local bird cage liner is average

  3. Wonder where Vogel got the information that the Mayor will gavel those that self-promote or advertise? The Mayor said in an interview on WJBC that he doesn’t want to use the gavel during public comment. Does Vogel know how the Council has voted on the revised Public Comment ordinance since the meeting hasn’t taken place yet?
