See the above link.  Van Jones will be speaking at Illinois State University for the Martin Luther King dinner 1/18/2013.  He will be speaking about the ‘Greening’ of the US economy.  The announcement leaves A LOT out.

Van Jones was more than a former adviser to President Obama, he was one of the over 35 czars appointed and serving without Senate confirmation.  That means he wasn’t vetted or his past reviewed, he was just anointed the Green Jobs Czar.  Luckily, some conservatives were familiar with Jones, and after being exposed as an admitted communist-he left the administration.  http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2009/09/06/van_jones_resigns.html

Think the Obama administration didn’t know who they hired?  Watch these 2 video:

Here’s Jones’ parting words:

I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future. Van Jones

But that’s not all.  Here’s what he was doing before going to DC:

After a brief stint in jail, he said, “I met all these young radical people of color — I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, ‘This is what I need to be a part of.’” Although he already had a plane ticket for Washington DC, he decided to stay in San Francisco. “I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary.” In the months that followed, he let go of any lingering thoughts that he might fit in with the status quo. “I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down [Rodney King] on April 29th,” he said. “By August, I was a communist.”

This manifesto describes his activities:  (Read the table of contents)

There is still more.  How about when Jones calls Republicans A**Holes:

Or, calling George Bush a crackhead:

Or, Jones’ definition of Social Justice:

Attn Van:

Declaration of Independence: “all men are CREATED equal” not entitled to equal stuff!  communism Van?

But let’s get back to the dinner.

Martin Luther King, Green Energy Czar – exactly what do they have in common?  All I can think of is skin color.  That’s a reason to hire a guy to speak?  How about the billions of taxpayer dollars thrown away on green technology?  Is this dinner suppose to celebrate the theft of taxpayer money?

Here’s a list of bankrupt green companies who lost OUR money:

  1. Abound Solar (Loveland, Colorado), manufacturer of thin film photovoltaic modules.
  2. Beacon Power (Tyngsborough, Massachusetts), designed and developed advanced products and services to support stable, reliable and efficient electricity grid operation.
  3. Ener1 (Indianapolis, Indiana), built compact lithium-ion-powered battery solutions for hybrid and electric cars.
  4. Energy Conversion Devices (Rochester Hills, Michigan/Auburn Hills, Michigan), manufacturer of flexible thin film photovoltaic (PV) technology and a producer of batteries and other renewable energy-related products.
  5. Evergreen Solar, Inc. (Marlborough, Massachusetts), manufactured and installed solar panels.
  6. Mountain Plaza, Inc. (Dandridge, Tennessee), designed and implemented “truck-stop electrification” technology.
  7. Olsen’s Crop Service and Olsens Mills Acquisition Co. (Berlin, Wisconsin), a private company producing ethanol.
  8. Range Fuels (Soperton, Georgia), tried to develop a technology that converted biomass into ethanol without the use of enzymes.
  9. Raser Technologies (Provo, Utah), geothermal power plants and technology licensing.
  10. Solyndra (Fremont, California), manufacturer of cylindrical panels of thin-film solar cells.
  11. Spectrawatt (Hopewell, New York), solar cell manufacturer.
  12. Thompson River Power LLC (Wayzata, Minnesota), designed and developed advanced products and services to support stable, reliable and efficient electricity grid operation.

Van Jones is a radical revolutionary who hates capitalism and is actively working to overthrow the Constitution.  What exactly  does he have in common with Martin Luther King?

I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

Would Martin Luther King even be comfortable in the same room with Jones?

It gets worse:

Your tax dollars are paying for his appearance, providing the ticket sales don’t cover his paycheck.  Here’s the contract:

Customer Agreement 1-JLD8H

$22,000 plus expenses.

I am a graduate of Illinois State University.  A few months back, the alumni magazine had a 3 page article on a graduate doing underground radio for the Occupy movement.  No mention in the article of the revolutionary goals of Occupy to overthrow the government.  In the same issue, an economist at ISU wrote an article blaming the banks for the housing crash-no mention of the legislation passed by Congress that caused it. (Research Community Reinvestment Act and other changes that followed)

Do I have to accuse ISU of trying to overthrow the government?  How about we just expose them and urge parents to send their kids somewhere else!  Why would anybody send their kids to a school who invites a communist to campus!

  1. Diane…I have fought this battle before and actually won it. As a student I had learned that they planned on having Mr. Jones come to speak using student fee dollars (which to me are a sort of tax…on how many classes you take). This money is a public fund collected by a public university. I was able to raise enough stir in reaction to this fund being used for paying the speakers fee of Mr. Jones. We cannnot stop a student group from bringing Mr. Jones unless it is being paid for with public dollars. Which many students who Mr. Jones has directly insulted have paid into. The group most likely sponsoring this is the Black Student Union which is a hybrid student group that DOES recieve public funds. To address this issue please incourage conservative student leaders such as Andrew Kubik, President of the College Republicans, Andy Manno Student Body President, and Nehmiah Chung Student Body Vice President to stand up for the rights of truly underepresented students; Republicans, on ISU’s campus.
