MoveOn.org sent the following information. Those of us who would like to defend ourselves (like the people in 49 other states), hope this means the issue will be brought back in Springfield! Guess Mr. Goodman hasn’t heard about all the people being mowed down in Chicago or that concealed carry is about DEFENSE.

Dear Illinois MoveOn member,
When the Illinois legislature goes back into session on November 27, the NRA could try to make it legal to carry concealed weapons in Illinois. Don’t let them succeed.
The situation is urgent! Illinois is the only state in the U.S. that still does not allow people to carry concealed weapons. If the gun lobby succeeds, people will be able to carry guns on their persons, in cars, buses, and trains, in houses of worship, schools, libraries, stores, shopping malls, movie theaters, restaurants, offices, and businesses in our state.
That’s why I created a petition on *****.org to the Illinois State Legislature and Governor Pat Quinn, which says:
We, the undersigned, oppose any ‘Concealed Carry’ legislation in Illinois that would allow people to carry concealed weapons in public, on their persons, in cars, buses, and trains, in houses of worship, schools, libraries, stores, shopping malls, movie theaters, restaurants, offices, and businesses, or anywhere other than in their own homes.

It sounds like to me this coalition is being led by a bunch of gang bangers or those who support the illegal activities of robbery, murder, assault of our good lawabide citizens of Illinois. Is that where they get their support money? After 16 years working as correctional officer in Illinois, you learn alot from inmate talk. When lawabiding citizens are held to one set of laws and the criminals another, it’s sad. Lawabiding citizens will register their guns, where as we all know criminals don’t. There are hundreds of thousands illegal guns floating all over our state, especially the North East Corner of our state. Obviously, the rest of the states can’t be wrong by passing this law.
Guns save the lives of the law abiding.

Of course the pro-crime lobby is powerful in Illinois and they will use every dirty trick in the book to make sure that the law abiding victims will remain unarmed.
