MADISON WI – Parents in Wisconsin took their concerns about the federal Common Core Standards and its curriculum to the state’s lawmakers last week. The argue against the data mining, computerized testing, questionable academic standards and nationalized curriculum.
Illinois parents have picked up the effort, and last week the Stop Common Core – Illinois coalition held a conference call in which over 100 persons participated. The group is organizing at the local level in Illinois to educate parents about the problems with the federal testing and curriculum that many educators contend are academically sub-standard and politically-motivated.
Good! Maybe a few (ticked off) parents and educators will get the ball rolling and can crush this thing. Thanks to BLNnews for the initial heads up on this subject.
It would be nice to find some ticked off parents LOCALLY! Bloomington-Normal schools were used as a test study!
