Progressives know too many people in this country value the 2nd Amendment. These same people know they have a RIGHT to protect themselves. They also know the police can’t protect us from armed intruders and the mentally ill wanting to kill. If you don’t want to defend yourself and would rather cower in a corner fine. A lot of us don’t.
Since gun confiscation in most of the country is not going to happen, your kids are the new target. The police have been called to investigate kids playing with Nerf guns in their own yard. A kid was suspended from school for biting a pop-tart into something vaguely looking like a gun. Other kids have been suspended for making paper guns, then there are even more suspended for pointing their finger like a gun.
This is more than political correctness. This is an organized effort to make kids AFRAID of even mentioning the word gun, let alone ever shoot one. This is a concerted effort to make sure in the future only the police and the bad guys have guns.
Do your country a favor this Christmas and buy your kids some toy guns. When they are old enough, teach them to shoot. Make sure decades from now they know why the 2nd Amendment is in the Constitution. Don’t allow them to be brainwashed by the guys who only want government to have any power. It’s your responsibility to Stand Up!

I have taken my grandkids out to my shooting range and have found them to enjoy it and most of them are good shooters. We as Americans should instill our Patriotic Heritage of the backbone of our Freedom our 2nd Amendment rights as Americans in our children and grandchildren. My children, though older now (oldest son 39, youngest son 24 and daughter 35) have a deep respect and love for guns.
. When some people asked me as a gun owner why do I love guns I explain that as an early age I grew up loving guns. My mother and father both worked full time so my older sister would baby set for me. My sister’s husband was a gun smith and avid gun collector. They loved to go to gun shows in Illinois so I was always going along. It wasn’t long before I also was a major gun lover. When I was 8 years old my bother-in-law gave me two old mouser rifles, an old doubled barreled shotgun and a revolver with their firing pins taken out so I could have them to play with. I kept them in my bedroom closet with all my toys. My grade school buddies use to love coming over to my house to play war or cops and robbers with real guns. Once we were playing at Fell Park in Normal and a police officer showed up and wanted to see them. I explained to him who my brother-in-law was and that he gave them to me with their firing pins removed so he handed them back to me and left. He knew my brother-in-law because he did work on a lot of the Normal police officers guns. Back then guns were not demonized as evil tools for criminal but as good tools for honest Americans. I received my first working gun at age 14, it was a 410 pump shotgun, then at age 16 I upgraded it to a 12 gauge pump shotgun. My favorite shows that I watch when growing up was Have Gun will Travel, The Guns of Will Sonnett, Gun Smoke, Tightrope, Mannix and Hawaii Five-O and these were very gun friendly shows. As George Washington the Father of our country once stated that guns are to have a place of honor with all that is good. Unfortunately and gradually cultural Communism has moved into our schools with indoctrination and our governmental representatives to try and disarm and oppress We The People. As the old but true saying goes, if you outlaw guns then only outlaws will have guns. I know what it is like to be on both sides of a gun though, when I was around 16 years old my sisters boyfriend who became her second husband and me got into an argument. He called me over to his trailer for a fight, so i went but when I got their he pulled his 12 gauge shotgun on me, fortunately I was able to back away and run without getting shot. Another time my girlfriend’s mother was dating Jesse Donald Sumner (we called him Don) who had just gotten out of prison after serving 9 years. He told her it was for bank robbery but my dad found a write up on him in a Detective magazine that he had cut his buddy’s (bank robber accomplice) throat, cut him up in pieces and then put him in a barrel with cement on top. He had some guys help him dump the barrel in a lake. It took the FBI a few years to get him on this murder but he got a life sentence yet through a technicality he was paroled in 1972 after serving only 9 years in prison. I showed the magazine to my girlfriend who told her mother about it. Then when I was going to my parked car on a street around downtown Bloomington he popped out of nowhere and grabbed me! He was mad because I had showed the magazine article to my girlfriend and she told her mom. I was able to pull away and I rolled over the hood of my car and got in it and took off. He was right on my bumper with his big red Buick. I figure the best place to go would be the Bloomington police station because he would not want to go there. After I arrived I ran in and explained it to a couple police officers. When we went to the front doors of the station and looked out he was no where to be seen. They told me to go home to my parents so I did. After leaving the police station it was no time at all and he was on my bumper again. So as soon as i pulled in our drive way I ran into our house and grabbed my 12 gauge shotgun out of my bedroom. When I reached up on my shelf to get my shells they were gone. I found out later that my mom had hid them because she was afraid that I might shoot someone. Mom and dad was not home of course, as I came out my bedroom to our back door he was coming in so I pumped the 12 gauge as if I had just loaded a shell yet is was empty but he didn’t know that. When I pointed the shotgun at him he went from being a devil to being an angel in about two seconds! I backed him to his car and told him in a language that I will not repeat to NEVER come back on my property. He immediately left and my shotgun saved my life. At that time we did not know that he was abducting ISU coeds, raping and murdering them. It was a few months later that Sheriff King and his deputies arrested him for killing three college girls that he buried in shallow graves. One was buried right in his garage floor in Stanford, IL. I found out later that at the time that this incident occurred that he had two of the girls raped and murdered but had not done the third one yet. It has always haunted me for many years that IF my mom had not hid those 12 gauge defense shells and I had shot and killed this piece of garbage there would be one of those victims still alive. Trust me when I say that I would of blowed him away, but in that situation I could only bluff and thank God it worked! Yes, I grew up loving guns and that is why today I am a proud American who is a gun lover, gun collector, an NRA member and a member of one of our local gun clubs.
This is the kind of story that more people need to see, but seldom do. Thank you for sharing it with everyone.
