Earlier this month I posted an email from the organizers of the Home Show held at the Coliseum. They weren’t happy – especially with parking. http://blnnews.com/2014/03/11/coliseum-failed-the-home-show/
I received a new email today. It didn’t take them long to find a new place for the show next year.

I am both pleased and excited to announce that we have secured a new location for the HomeShow in 2015 and the years beyond. We will be returning to the Interstate Center and this move will allow us to retain the quality of show that you all have become accustom with in the past.
For those of you who are not familiar with the Interstate Center let me point out a few qualities. First of all it’s on one level. This will allow the flow to move easier throughout the show floor. No steps…no elevators…It’s a great layout! Second, parking will no longer be an issue and we will be offering it for free. No charge to you as a vendor and no charge to show patrons. There will be VENDOR ONLY parking area near the only VENDOR ENTRANCE door. There will be only one main entrance to the show floor. Third, you will be allowed to use your own equipment such as fork lifts, etc. if you so desire. As always, one will be on hand during load in for your convenience. You will also be allowed to bring in your own food and drink and there will be a vendor area to store your item if need be. Food will also be available for purchase during regular show hours. We have also secured extra days for your convenience in load-in and load-out. We are no longer restricted to Friday move in only dates and won’t need to be out completely on Sunday.
I feel confident this will be a much better place for the HomeShow and I hope you will agree. Booth sales will begin on July 21, 2014 to members only. On July 28, 2014 sales will open to all patrons purchasing 3 or more booth spaces. On August 4, 2014 sales will open to all patrons purchasing doubles or single booth spaces and sales will continue until we are sold out.

You might of thought they would of considered the Interstate Center first for that kind of show instead of the Coliseum which is mostly used for concerts, Ice Hockey and the Jehovah Witness Convention. The Interstate Center is where we have our knife and gun shows now twice a year and it’s a dog gone good place for it!!! 😛
I was at the HOME SHOW and am not surprised at them moving. The parking and the different levels for people to get around have been obstacles. If the Interstate Center had slightly more room they would get more events. Great parking, good access and easy to find.
