The Hobby Lobby attack

by:  Diane Benjamin

The Supreme Court decided that Hobby Lobby and other companies do not have to provide insurance coverage for drugs deemed to cause an abortion – on religious grounds.

Hobby Lobby still covers 16 types of contraceptives, just not the 20 the Affordable Care Acts wants (ObamaCare).  Unfortunately the progressives are leaving that part out of the argument.  They are starting up the War on Women campaign again.  They also leave out the Religious Freedom Restoration Act was signed by Bill Clinton.  They also leave out the very narrow definition by the Supreme Court targeting only the 4 drugs in question.

Worse, they consider women stupid and think they will fall for anything they say.  They believe women will believe Republicans want to take away their contraception.  The left now as a bill “Not my Boss’ business”.

Here’s the problem:

It’s none of my boss’ business but he/she is suppose to pay for it?

Nobody is trying to stop women from doing anything they want with their bodies – just who pays for it.  Hey:  you want to kill a baby, pay for it yourself!  You have no right to force people to pay for your idea of healthcare.  Guts women’s rights?  The only right gutted was who pays.

Below is part of an email sent by [email protected].  The last few years have shown the ENDS justify the MEANS.  Lies are part of the means.

PRACTICAL PROGRESS: The Agenda Project Action Fund’s actually ‘brief’ briefing on the most Important news from the Progressive Movement.

HOBBY LOBBY GUTS WOMEN’S RIGHTS — Center for Reproductive Rights President and CEO Nancy Northrup slammed the Supreme Court’s Burwell v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. ruling, stating: “This astonishingly backward-looking decision makes one troubling pronouncement after another, turning back the clock on what should have been an historic measure of progress for women’s health and empowerment.” The devastating ruling dictates that “closely-held” for-profit secular corporations are exempt from the Affordable Care Act’s contraceptive mandate under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act … to combat the ruling, Planned Parenthood launched a text helpline for those affected. TEXT “birth control” to 69866 to report denial of coverage and receive information about how to get access.

Democratic Senators Patty Murray (WA) and Mark Udall (CO) are expediting the Protect Women’s Health From Corporate Interference Act–nicknamed the “Not My Boss’ Business Bill”–that would override the SCOTUS ruling and ensure that employers cover contraception for their workers. SIGN Planned Parenthood’s petition to Congress HERE.

  1. The democrats are idiots… a new federal law won’t override the constitutionally protected rights enshrined in the bill of rights. Everyone will still have the free exercise of religion and right of conscience. If the morons would bother to read the first amendment it says CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE OF RELIGION. Their proposed law would violate that clause. Just what don’t they get, they should be censured for being stupid! The U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land, federal law cannot amend the constitution and remember the Bill of Rights is part of the constitution.

  2. I think what it really comes down to is that the liberals finally are making another attempt to distract from the absolute failure of the Obama presidency. So they are seizing on this “issue” in hopes that they can yell loud enough to get people to forget Benghazi, IRS targeting, Ukraine, Iraq, high unemployment/low labor force participation, Keystone XL, the VA, and Obamacare. With a list like that they have to yell really, really loud to try and distract from it.
