Ameren responds

I received the following email unsolicited in response to the Ameren story last week.  The guy who originally contacted me still has questions about the situation, look for the story to continue.  Meanwhile, if you have an Ameren problem – here’s the contact info.

We would appreciate it if you would have the Ameren customer who sent you this concern contact us at the Ameren Illinois Construction Hotline number.  We cannot discuss an individual’s account, but when there is a National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) violation, we have an obligation under state law to remove power from the premise in order to prevent injury to the customer or our employees.  Ensuring the safety of our customers is a priority for Ameren Illinois.

Please encourage all Ameren Illinois customers to call or email if they have questions and we will work with them.
