Obama wants gun control

By:  Diane Benjamin

I hear the Obama speech from the Oval Office tonight will contain his Executive Action plan to impose gun control.  Violating the Constitution has never bothered him, this will be no exception.

In honor of his speech, here’s some things I found this week about why the Founder’s instituted the 2nd amendment:

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms…disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed one.”

– This is not something Jefferson wrote, but rather comes from a passage he included in his “Legal Commonplace Book.” The passage is from Cesare Beccaria’s Essay on Crimes and Punishments

“Americans have the right and advantage of being armed ― unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.” – James Madison (The Federalist, No. 46 at 243- 244)

“Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?”
Patrick Henry

“If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no recourse left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense which is paramount to all positive forms of government, and which against the usurpations of the national rulers may be exerted with infinitely better prospect of success than against those of the rulers of an individual State. In a single State, if the persons entrusted with supreme power become usurpers, the different parcels, subdivisions, or districts of which it consists, having no distinct government in each, can take no regular measures for defense. The citizens must rush tumultuously to arms, without concert, without system, without resource; except in their courage and despair.” – Alexander Hamilton, Federalist paper No. 29

  1. Obama and ISIS both want Americans disarmed. Obama and ISIS want an end to our freedoms. Obama and ISIS both despise christians. On the bright side if Obama over reaches tonight he may just handed the 2016 Presidential election to Cruz or Trump.

    1. Lol!!! Really? Cruz or Trump would be better than Obama? I guess if you like your presidents Xenophobic, anti-woman, Jacksonian, pro-Assad, anti-immigrant, and boorish. Heck maybe we can get into some more wars! I also like Trump’s attempt at being Fascist with his wish to take out the families of terrorists. Getting less conservative and more crazy everyday with Trump and Cruz.

      1. Mikey I take back earlier when I called you a dolt. Instead I think this definition might better describe your comment.
        ignorant |ˈignərənt|
        adjective
lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated: he was told constantly that he was ignorant and stupid.
        • [ predic. ] lacking knowledge, information, or awareness about something in particular: they were ignorant of astronomy.
        and,,,

      2. ,,,and I’ve got to wonder about the mindset of the accusation that Trump/Cruz are xenophobic yet are pro-Assad. Claiming anti-migrant is an outright lie when Trump/Cruz have clearly stated their opposition to illegal immigrants not immigrants in general. Trump is anything but boring. Lol. Then you throw that anti-woman label out there. Wasn’t it you Mikey that noted name calling wasn’t much of an argument? Just if you are throwing the accusations out there, then it is okay right Mikey?

      3. At least trump and cruz are not criminals like clinton. Besides, I do like my presidents to be xenophobic and anti-immigrant. Those are features not defects.

      4. Mudd, all you have is name calling and its low brow at best. I should applaud you for opening your dictionary. Now do you the difference between a noun and an adjective? A name is a noun. An adjective is a characteristic. And Trump and Cruz for the most part have proven time and again to fit those descriptions. Notice I didn’t use the noun equilvalents. See the difference? You can call me ignorant all you want but calling people dolts and other like minded names makes it sound like you are judging them for the sake of being mean. And it also brings down the intelligence of the debate. I have no problem with debating, but I avoid calling someone a dolt or similar. If I am going to provide a retort, I will do it creatively. By the way, you totally failed on what boorish means: rough and bad-mannered. So who is ignorant now?

  2. “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” I believe and I will stand that I have inalienable rights that shall not be infringed.

  3. It is my understanding that the 2nd Amendment guarantees protection of ordinary citizens from over-reaching rulers–not just self-defense against criminals and invaders.

    1. Gun control was there as his joke. Homeland Security has lots of people on the no-fly list that shouldn’t be. He can add a bunch more – magic gun laws. No need for congress since he runs HS.

  4. Did ten minutes of research to debunk the liberal argument concerning our forefathers could not foresee the existence of rifles with high capacity magazines. Well, they had already been invented!

In 1686 the Cookston Repeater was invented by John Cookston a British gunsmith from London. An original of this rifle is kept in some museum in Washington DC. This rifle had the capacity to hold ten bullets and enough powder for ten shots.

Although other repeating rifles were also (being) invented, quite notably Thomas Jefferson purchased two Girardoni Air Gun systems to send along on the Lewis and Clark expedition so that they could defend themselves. A system of air assisted in the propulsion of the bullet, hence the name. This rifle was fed by a 22 shot magazine. This rifle was invented by Bartholomaus Girardoni in 1778-1779.

So once again one of the gun grabbers favorite arguments is an absolute big fat lie.

  5. Two different eye witnesses saw three white males dressed in military fatigues described as the San Bernadino shooters. It’s another false flag event to negatively influence the masses to destroy the 2nd Amendment.
