Another reader called and said I should check McLean County Board member Dave Selzer’s property tax payment record. See below from the County website: http://mcleanil.devnetwedge.com/view/RE/14-27-254-012/2014
See this post from earlier today: http://blnnews.com/2016/02/15/countys-david-selzer-them-vrs-us/
Selzer can’t pay his property taxes, but he wants to spend your money as a County Board member. He was appointed and will be on the March ballot – unopposed as a Republican.
This is how the County Board vets the people they appoint to the Board. Congrats McLean County.

what does it mean when you have a tax sale or subsequent sale? Does someone pay for your taxes and you have to pay them back?
Since he wasn’t foreclosed, that’s what I’m thinking.
I wonder if other board members are as delinquent on their taxes every year? Man this looks bad.
Ben Owens bought a house in 2003 for $117,500. Values by various places on the net put it between $137,000 and $141,000 now. He is being taxed at $35,796 (x 3.33 = $119,201)
Send an assessor to his house!

Thanks!
NO mention of Sorenson as of late, and USUALLY where’s there’s smoke, there’s fire. Makes one wonder what the OTHER board members have in their closet?? And they expect OUR trust, with TRANSPARENCY like this? I feel sorry for the “millenials” that live/work here seeing all this and thinking this is “business as usual”!
He was in court again last week requesting a vacation permit for March. Right now he can’t leave the state.
I hope he is denied on his request. He’s a flight risk if you ask my opinion. Takes a lot of guts to do what he is alleged to have done to his previous employer. The feds just don’t go after anyone on a whim.
🙂
How about everybody sending a letter to the local and state Board of Elections asking them to remove Dave from the ballot because he is not current in paying his local property taxes.
Since somebody else paid them, he’s probably back to being legal. Watch him in early fall when this year’s don’t get paid.
