The Pantagraph continues to reject Letters to the Editor without stating a reason. Some of the top read stories on BlnNews.com are rejected letters I have printed.
Letters to the Editor have existed for hundreds of years to give citizens a voice. If the Pantagraph silences you, send your letter to me. As long as the letter meets common decency standards, I will print it. ([email protected])
Local media is way too close to local government. Instead of being a watchdog, they act like lap-dogs.
You deserve better.
More nonsense. They are a private business and can accept letters from whoever they want to.

You sing a different tune when censorship is alleged against left wing sources such as the New York Terms and Bluffington Post. Your side Tom goes out of their way to stifle the opinions and thoughts of the opposition. The only way you lefties can accept the narrative is to control it.
Their policies have no defense because they always fail.
The Pantagraph just needs come out and call themselves a left wing democrat newspaper.
Tom is a fool…..
Maybe it’s really Tari! (Drive by hits with no substance)
Pantagraph ALWAYS has been a “pipeline” for the local politico! The weekly Reader that we all got in 5th grade (except for Tom, who obviously is working on his “veteran year” of 3rd grade) had WAY more interesting and up to date news in it. Plus back in the early 70’s they had a subscribership of 53,000, wonder WHAT it is now?
Great comment Townie.
Ameren Article Deceptive
The article in May 23rd Pantagraph was ironic, hypocritical, and deceitful. In bold print on the
front page, quotes “advocates: no benefits for Ameren customers.” It is only on the second page of the article that the advocates are revealed. It is none other than a lobbyist group called National Resource Defense Council. The irony comes in because it is federal regulations forced upon Ameren brought about by pressure from lobbyist groups such as NRDC that are the reason for the need to increase rates to meet new EPA requirements. The deceit comes in because the Pantagraph did not list the source on the front page where the big headline was meant to alarm customers of a rate hike if this bill is passed. The hypocrisy comes about because organizations such as NRDC strongly support the Democratic party. The same Democratic party who relies on support by labor unions, such as Ameren employees. I would like to see more comprehensive reporting by the Pantagraph.
This letter was submitted via e-mail on May 24th. Not printed, no confirmation from Pantagraph to verify the author. I made certain that all required information was included, but it was not printed. When I left a voice mail of inquiry my call was not returned.
I might re-print this so more people will see it. Thanks.
Thank you very much.
