240 years and counting

56 men signed the Declaration of Independence.  Their signatures marked them for death by the British government.

It seems like everybody quotes:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. . . .

The last line is even more profound:

And for the support of the Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.

The world changed forever when tyranny was defeated.  The true story of patriots isn’t taught anymore.

Politicians occasionally say our National Anthem needs to be changed.  Take a few minutes to see why that must never happen:

  1. And on that note on this 4th of July, I wonder how many more times we can really celebrate Independence Day. It is truly sad how,,,what this once great country of ours has become. It’s time to Make America Great Again as the Trump campaign has chosen. If there was a better choice that had a chance to win I would consider them. However throughout this election season Trump is the only one that even talks about America rather than the elitist global bullcrap. He does not support the TTP and wants to repeal NAFTA. It’s a good start.

  2. AMEN Mudd! Trade agreements have cost us jobs, made everyday items expensive, and made AMERICA globally despised. Earlier days had John Birch, it’s time for a change from “business as usual politics” and for a REAL change in this country that has ALWAYS been great, and make it better FOR ALL!! Have a SAFE and enjoyable forth, and DO NOT forget WHY we are FREE! ps:: Put your flag out IF you haven’t already done so-they’re NOT just stars and stripes.

      1. Bingo. But I am not sure how cheap it really is anymore or if the quality is worth it. I will gladly pay the extra money for an American product if the quality is good.

  3. The video was very moving. It is always worthwhile to reflect on and study history instead of trying to predict and manipulate the future without the benefits of such reflection.

It is important that we take time to “remember the sacrifices” that others have made to make our country free & to thank Our Creator for His mercies and blessings that He has bestowed on our nation! May we never forget the sacrifices that were made & continue to be made in order to preserve our freedom.
