Almost four years ago, Bloomington voted for Tari Renner as Mayor. He was elected with 5005 votes. Total registered voters were 46,740. The election was stolen by the few people who bothered to vote, a lot of them IWU students who have graduated and left Bloomington.
Kevin Lower was elected with 615 votes.
Mboka Mwilambwe was elected with 582 votes.
Scott Black was elected with 447 votes.

Joni Painter was elected in 2013 to a two-year term to fill Jennifer McDade’s when she quit. She got 320 votes.

Petitions for the election year next year can be circulated beginning August 30th.
Kevin Lower hasn’t announced yet whether he is running for Mayor or Ward 1.
Normal:
Registered voters – 57,259, more than in Bloomington!
Chris Koos won with 2,551 votes.

If good people willing to work to get elected don’t run, Normal and Bloomington will be sharing Sales Tax. Both cities will see more tax increases. Bloomington will fund a downtown hotel.

Lower is easy. If it raised taxes, he voted NO.
Liberal progressive big spenders control Bloomington and Normal because the citizens let them.
Stay home again on election day next year. Don’t help candidates who represent citizens instead of government. Renner, Koos, and company are counting on you NOT showing up.
The local Chamber of Commerce is counting on the same thing.
So who is running against the crooked communists that presently hold offices in B-N?
Lupe Diaz almost beat Joni Painter last time – he is running. I know of one guy who might be running against Koos.
I thought Renner was elected by a very small margin in a 3 person race. He was elected by only 10% of registered voters. That is similar to the number of supporters he represents currently if you look at the number of citizens consulted with or supporting the Comprehensive Master Plan and B/N Advantage. Renner is not representing the citizens of Bloomington, especially considering the number of very vocal “naysayers.”
On top of that problem, most of the people they rule over are not even allowed to vote. Bloomington-Normal has sucked the life out of the rest of the county and everyone outside the city is hostage to the problems they create.

And they want it that way, so decent people have no local escape. Left-wing misery for one and all!
