UPDATE: Anybody see a problem:

There is yet another meeting tonight – again not on the City Calendar.  It is on the Home page of the City website:  http://www.cityblm.org/index.aspx?page=18&recordid=3777&returnURL=%2findex.aspx

It is about Hamilton Road.  Interested parties should attend.  This one starts at 5:00 at Prairie Vista.  The only meeting on the calendar is Citizens Beautification.

This meeting is NOT on the City website under meetings or listed on the City calendar!

meeting-noticeMaybe Bloomington-Normal should become four towns instead of two:

  1. Downtown Bloomington
  2. The rest of Bloomington
  3. Uptown Normal
  4. The rest of Normal

When both cities put all their energy into downtown, there isn’t a connection anymore.

There was another meeting last night that wasn’t so public:  http://www.cityblm.org/index.aspx?page=17&recordid=5327

It’s also NOT on the City calendar:

  1. The “non-notice” notice is an insult. The Council, Mayor, City Manager and Community Development Director are using the Comprehensive Plan as a means to promote downtown redevelopment as a priority, to be implemented immediately. Where is the funding going to come from? The Ward 4 council member asked that question regarding street repair. One needs to read the Comprehensive Plan!! The priorities for the City are listed by “tiers.” No, I am not going to look up the page # and provide it to those who don’t bother to read “strategic” documents. Repair of the deteriorated streets and sewers which have been neglected for decades is listed as a Tier 1 priority. The Citizen Summit held just a few years ago stated their #1 priority as street repairs. Does the City administration have anything between their ears to prevent the requests of the entire community from going in one ear and out the other? HELLO…or is it HELL-NO.

  2. The Comprehensive Plan is brought to you by the United Nations through Agenda 21, through the various NGOs supporting organizations such as the McLean County Planning Commmision so it looks like a democratic process representing the will of the people. Deceive to achieve strikes again.
