Rep Dan Brady has a huge office in Springfield because he is part of the House GOP leadership team.
The email below was sent to Dan Brady. Democrats in Illinois think if they can close every gun store in the state no guns will exist. They are pushing a bill to make that happen. Instead of enforcing the law in Chicago, calling in the National Guard until the violence is under control, or handing out long jail time to gun offenders – they think making guns impossible to obtain for law-abiding citizens will solve their problems.
People who understand the 2nd amendment “shall no be infringed” know the violence will only increase in Chicago when citizens have no ability to defend themselves. This is a serious issue and the writer deserved a serious answer.
Dear Representative Dan Brady:
I don’t want to make any assumptions about your vote, so I wanted to confirm that you will be in full opposition to House Bill 1016 when it comes up for a vote. Currently, the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) licenses and closely monitors all FFLs and strictly enforces any infringement of federal law. HB 1016 goes far beyond federal law in its mandatory regulations and red tape imposed at the state level that it would almost assuredly force the closure of most firearm dealers, and prevent prospective owners from opening new ones.
Again, as your constituent, I urge you to oppose House Bill 1016 in any form when It comes up for a vote.

Defending the Constitution doesn’t involve “keep your opinion in mind” Dan. Answers like this show why Trump won – and no I was not one of his supporters. Representatives at all levels are supposed to work for constituents. They don’t RULE us. The writer deserved a straight answer from Brady. Dan decided he didn’t owe the writer anything.
It’s time for Dan to go! Drain his swamp.

Brady has been in Spingfield way too long and he is part of the problem as evidenced by his response. He is Mark Kirk Jr. when it comes to representing conservative issues. Yes, drain the swamp!
The response is a computer generated one so no one has to be in the office.
It looks like a standard response a staffer pastes in there to respond to any, “I urge you to support XYZ.” Perhaps the writer should have asked him the specific question for his stance on the legislation as written? I understand what the writer was looking for, but I doubt the staffer looked much beyond the “I urge you…” statement. The writer should have ended with, “Will you be voting for or against the bill as written?” or “Do you support the bill as written?” Then, if you get the response of, “I don’t know.” or the cookie cutter that was sent back, it’s easier to hit him on.
Any legislation by Democrats on guns is a huge red flag. It should have been to Brady too.
