Trying not to laugh, I read it.
Just last Saturday, the Pantagraph ran an AP story that used Media Matter for America as a source: http://www.pantagraph.com/business/google-still-putting-ads-on-fake-news-sites
Associated Press could be considered FAKE NEWS themselves because facts, if included at all, are normally buried deep in the story where they know most readers don’t read, but using Media Matters as a source should alarm anyone expecting truth.

This group’s only purpose is to support Progressives, or call them socialists and communists if you think that fits better. They won’t be asking the President where the $2500 promised savings on healthcare is, but they will take comments out of context or edit video to promote their warped views.
Pantagraph reporters aren’t any better. In a December 14th article concerning Kevin Gerrard’s challenge to Tari Renner’s petitions, the last paragraph in a LONG article finally mentioned a Renner supporter admitted signing his wife’s name! The writer didn’t mention that’s illegal.

Conservatives have known about FAKE NEWS for many years. Brian Williams of NBC lost his anchor job for making up his own facts. NBC also edited the 911 call from George Zimmerman to make him sound like a racists – they also called him a white Hispanic whatever that is.
Dan Rather also lost his anchor job for writing his own facts. I could cite many more examples of FAKE NEWS, but the point is: You did this to yourself.
Many reporters in Washington are married to people holding elected or appointed positions. No, I’m not doing your research for you, ask Google. We have known the main stream media isn’t trustworthy for many years, that’s why many other sources for news are now available.
Shed a tear, you made your self immaterial. Refusing to put your name on editorials is just more proof you don’t believe what you write. Somebody might out your incompetence and arrogance.

Normal will be holding a truth in taxation hearing tonight for a property tax increase. The Pantograph’s article had this buried as the last paragraph in the story under “In other business the Council will consider:” with the headline”Normal to save $2.2M in bond refinancing.”
Property taxes are used for debt abatement in addition to salaries and pensions.
Maybe THEY can explain to all us dumb_____! HOW in the world refinancing a bond SAVES money. Usually when you borrow money, it costs more. Maybe they have some kind of magical piggy bank??? Possibly a golden unicorn??
They aren’t throwing away as much as they planned to! You are supposed to celebrate now.
Refinancing at a lower interest rate will save money on interest payments in the long term.
Meeks withdraws complaints, absent this morning. Well now, it requires defeat at the polls.

I am glad that there are real news sites, like yours, that aren’t part of the Fifth Column, “mainstream” media. However, I am troubled by the number of misinformation websites that have popped up, spreading false information to make conservatives look bad for sharing the stories and believing them. There are also such sites for the progressives. There are several possibilities to explain the surge in misinformation news stories. One could be foreign tampering (Russia and other countries are known to do this) and another could be internal divisive politics. I know some sites just do it as click bait and for laughs, but it seems to be more than that lately.
If you watch what you are doing, they are easy to spot. I always check the source before even reading.
I do my own checking. However, you know as well as I do that there are plenty of people that simply share the stories on their Facebook or other social media based just on a headline.

AND I might add that the establishment is grateful to the two bit local yocal newpapers (like the P-graph) that are now owned by the major news media corporations.
The Panstagraph article sites IWU professor James Plath on fake news. Lmao. Check out his Twitter feed the guy is having a meltdown because trump won. He rails about Fox News and never mentions msnbc. Clear bias. Tweet on 12-12 refers to Trump campaign manager as a ” Token Trump Female.” Tweet on 12-16 tweeted ” I vote we give Trump the same chance people gave Obama.” Also tweeted after the election “hillbillies 3. Hillary 1. Revenge or rural America. This guy is clearly a left winger who the pantagraph thinks we should look to for info on fighting fake news. The other left winger the pantagraph refers to is Nathan Carpenter from ISU. On 11-22 he retweeted a post calling Trump a racist. On 12-3 he actually retweeted fake misleading news by using an old quote from Ann Coulter to make it appear she currently regrets voting for Trump. Also has numerous tweets pushing the fake global warming scare. The pantagraph has become a joke. Don’t trust them.
Plath’s Facebook postings are full of links to opinion pieces disguised as news from progressive sites, such as OccupyDemocrats. He considered Trump voters unbelievably stupid and Hillary is the smartest and honest woman on the planet. He can’t see the forest for the trees. His current outrage is over Russian interference in the election. He considers the DNC emails private and shouldn’t be made public, nor even read. This is the kind of thing he teaches his journalism students at Wesleyan.
Check out Renner for Mayor FB page if you want some fake news. The local media are only puppets.
