UPDATE: NIOT: fake event advertising

I had to add this tweet – this person lives in Bloomington!  NIOT!

By:  Diane Benjamin

These pics are from the NIOT Bloomington-Normal Facebook page.  Obviously not all the attendees agreed with what was being said, both pics show numerous people sitting and not clapping while other are standing and cheering.

niotacaptureNote the sign in the second picture.  In Spanish, English, and Arabic it says ““No matter where you are from, we’re glad you’re our neighbor”.

Supposedly the signs mean they don’t support the “hateful messages” Trump is sending on immigration.

Was anybody welcomed at this event with a different opinion?  If you voted for Trump because he campaigned on securing our borders and keeping terrorist out – you were not included in their “inclusive welcoming” speech.  I appreciate the self-labeling by those opposed to “diversity of thought”, evidently they are selling a lot of signs.  I was outside with the people who showed up to protest the event.  People passing actually cussed at us.  Very inclusive and welcoming!

That brings me to the tweets I received after this event.  This is just a few of them.  At least some of these people were at the event cheering “love”, “diversity”, and inclusiveness”.

tweet9 tweet8 tweet7 tweet6 tweet5 tweet4 tweet3 tweet2 tweet1Not In Our Town has supporters who preach hate.  It’s so easy to hide behind a tweet!  Note the fake names, sorry to the people I didn’t print tweets from.  Keep tweeting your hate if you want it printed in the future.

One more thing.  NIOT was billed $918 for this event.  Alderman Karen Schmidt is listed as the organizer – see the contract and bill HERE

Elections have consequences when Democrats win.  When Republicans win its war.  The local press is pretending this event wasn’t a Democrat campaign rally.  It was, they just didn’t post that in advance.

  1. Based on their definition of diversity being only based on skin color, this doesn’t look like a very diverse crowd. Interesting. Also, going to send a donation to you after work today – hopefully it’ll offset the nasty folks!

  2. Hardly any people of color in the pictures. Were they sitting off to the side by themselves (segregated) or were they not in attendance? With all the hate being spewed against you personally Diane, the others who stood with you at the event, and the venomous assaults by this group at Ian Bayne, NIOT should be classified as a hate group. Lies, propaganda, and coordidinated seperate attacks on you and Bayne by this hate group (with I’m sure the participation and/or blessing of the usual suspects at city hall) is really amusing because most of these dopes are so confused that they think supporting Trumps immigration policy for the 7 Islamic countries is racist, when in fact Islam is not a race, but is instead a religion. They also don’t understand that that Obama, Bush, Clinton, and Carter made similar “bans” during their tenures as POTUS, and Hillary, Schumer, Pelosi, and Fienstien supported such bans as recently as 2015. One thing about liberals or shall I say the Democratic Party, they should change their party mascot from a donkey to a large chameleon, That image would more accurately reflect those knuckleheads.

  3. These tweets constitute cyber-bullying. School systems have policies in place to prevent this type of bullying. Are these people parents? How would they feel if this was directed at their child?

  4. @TakingBackThe Bird < your tweet is filled with nothing but insults, no fact at all. That's another reason why you libtards let Donald Trump win the election. Insults, lies and uninformed bullshit is all you've got.

  5. Hmmm. No Tweets calling you a “human cancer?” So…the terrorists are already here, Diane. Here’s some “weekend fun” for you: every terror attack since 9-11 was not by a visa holder or a refugee. Every terror attack since 9/11 has been committed by citizen or legal resident. Many of them white and christian. Trump’s immigration order plays right into the terrorist’s hands who have been preaching for years the U.S. is waging a religious war, not a war on terrorism. Wake the f up.

        1. So, that means what? ISIS said they were going to hide terrorist in the refugee populations and they have in Europe! Shou7ld we wait until more Americans die before making sure they don’t come here? How many lives need to be sacrificed so you can feel good about yourself?

    1. Whether they were white Christians or not I don’t know but it is a FACT that MANY OF THEM WERE DEMOCRATS!

    2. Depends on what you define as “terrorist attacks.” There are domestic terror attacks, usually racial hate crimes. The POTUS order is to prevent foreign terrorist attacks. Have you forgotten the Boston Marathon bombing? Some of the most liberal and tolerant countries in Western Europe who opened their borders to refugees are now deporting them.

    3. “Let’s get one thing straight. Trump has NOT banned Muslims. He has imposed a 90 day pause in travel from specific nations who do not like the United States because the United States has been bombing and drone-striking and regime changing them for the last several years. Trump is being cautious.” CREDIT: whatreallyhappened.com

  6. Just TODAY after the machete incident @ the Louvre the FRENCH said AMERICA “NEEDS” to be CARFUL who it lets in-this is the FRENCH, who HAVE been subjected to several acts of terrorism, were there ANY survivors of these attacks there, otherwise, this is just a bunch of sign toting, feel gooders. N.I.M.T.
ROB, you NEED to quit getting your “news” off of bathroom walls!

  7. Diane, I usually don’t read comments nor do I ever “tweet” and your examples solidify my decision. When people choose to call you names instead of having an intelligent conversation there isn’t much you can do but know they are ignorant.  I love your information – even if I don’t always agree. Keep up the fight. It matters.

    1. Thanks. I’ve got tons more. Maybe I should print all of them. Most are written by 12 year sounding idiots, but a few are obviously sore losers trying to offend me. They failed – I quit caring in high school what people thought of me.

    1. Would be very interesting to see if a conservative/traditional/decent/pro-AMERICAN organization would get the same BCPA “cut rate”. I’m betting not. Left-wing governments, whether national, state, or local, love to (illegally) play favorites.

Point 2: Propose this answer to the tri-ligual signs:

      IF YOU ARE AN ILLEGAL
      IF YOU ARE A TERRORIST
      IF YOU ARE A COMMUNIST
      YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE!

Would cover most of the people who attended the NIOT rally, and almost all of the Black Lives Matter (terrorist group) supporters.

  8. Would they mind renting the Coliseum next time? Heck, if they’re willing to pay the bills, I wouldn’t mind if they held one event per week to increase bookings and decrease their losses. While it won’t come anywhere close to putting that albatross in the black, it would certainly help a little bit slowing the red ink – although that’s assuming they actually pay the costs anyone else would have to pay.

    1. TJ- Excellent suggestion. The feel-good NIOT phonies will never pay full fare though, they are free-riders. That’s why ACA premiums skyrocketed, proving the last president a phony, because the NIOT ilk (SG please look up that word) just love taxpayers augmenting (SG look up that one too) their tepid (SG- you know what to do) approach to paying their own way.

  9. So does the thin-skinned victim mentality society meet here every week? Or did you call this little meeting special on account of the low self esteem triggered by your low protest numbers?

    1. SG, and this comment is relative how? Again, you are supporting the notion that the NIOT supporters are hateful. Those elderly individuals standing outside in freezing weather are not thin skinned as you claim. Some are war veterans. They defended your right to sit in the comfort of the BCPA to spew hatred for our sovereign nation. Your behavior indicates that you are too immature to understand true sacrifice for the common good.

  10. ‘Open to the public’ – within 2 minutes of being part of the public, a police officer ordered the group supporting President Trump to leave the BCPA. The police officer didn’t think this up, the organizers who advertised ‘Open to the public’ demanded it.

NIOT is a closed-mind hate group.

    NIOT is a hate group.

SG- ‘President Trump’. Say it a few times. You’ll need it to sink in, you are going to hear it for 8 more years. A joyful ring. In fact, make it a ring tone on your cell phone. Every time a NIOT hate group member calls you can enjoy it.

Anonymous – EXCELLENT sleuthing (SG, look up that word please) on the BCPA rates. Anyone here please call BCPA and insist they apply the full rate. SG can put in some more hours at the tattoo parlor to pay for it, the free ride benefits do have limits.

      1. Thank you for doing so. I am looking forward to either the discount justification or seeing the hike to full fare.

An uneven discount application would be rate discrimination. Governments cannot apply rate discrimination, that is illegal.

I will compare this bill to what the BCPA charged our governor to speak. Not the governor in jail. If the rate is the same, then the BCPA / the city government is indeed being fair.

  11. Rob, thank you for using the f’word in your uninformed comments. Anyone who uses rapper rhetoric in a blog debate loses all credibility. Get back to smoking dope and leave debate to grownups.

  12. Those pictures are beautiful! Octogenarian white women and old passed-over professors who perished instead of published. Median age, 82 or so? The new millennial hipsters.

  13. Mad As Hell, do you parade in your clown mask at your NIOT hate group get togethers? You have the community trembling. Or not.

  14. Mad As Hell – look at the photos. 1 face isn’t white. You have a wonderfully diverse white group.

  15. I agree. Being hateful to those you don’t like only serves your own interest. I am curious if this applies when your own surrogates are being inappropriate? Ian Bayne is being called out for being behind for Fike4Mayor.com and Loweformayor.com. Have you approached and asked if he had anything to do with this? The website design looks an awful lot like another one Ian own’s–saveourparty.com. Our how about that county employee in West Virginia who referred to Michelle Obama as a gorilla? Or you suggesting gays should get married so that there are no more Democrats? You can go for days calling Jesse Smart an old geezer or old man but then do this when you are getting trolled? Unless you see the nonsense in your own behavior your words have less weight. But then again you have never come across as someone who questions her own behavior. Nothing you do excuses people for trolling you but you shouldn’t excuse yourself to be inappropriate in response.

      1. So you like being hated? Then why all this nonsense about trolls? Or are you just trying to get some sympathy? You don’t seem to care either way so why point it out? The fact that you never addressed my other questions tells me that you are squeezing this thing for all it’s worth (come off as the righteous hero in a the face of an army of hate). It’s pretty shameful to manipulate something to get a benefit to yourself when you personally could care less.

        1. First, I’m using a phone so responding isn’t very easy. 2nd you obviously don’t care what me answers would be. I do local politics, so national is immaterial. I know nothing about what Ian Bayne is or isn’t doing.

      2. You like to think you are local. The NIOT event was in response to a event with national scope. Tati Renner didn’t issue the executive order, Donald Trump did. You don’t respond to inappropriate stuff from Conservatives because deep down, you hate Liberalism and anything that comes with it. It doesn’t matter if it’s national or local, you won’t address it because it busts your narrative that Conservatism will deliver American from its evils.

Go on insideBloomington.com. All of a sudden Lower is establishment and Robert Fike called the BPD to see who is behind a website saying he is a plant for Tari Renner.

  16. Classic liberal thinking is based in liberty. Liberty. Classic liberal studies, reading, thought, is close to self-actualizing. Think learning the Socratic method. Today’s liberalism is lockstep action, intolerant thinking, emotion over logic. Liberalism is interested in watering down our / my sovereignty as citizens and as nation by diluting our wealth, our resources, our culture, our history, our language. Orwellian in nature.

Liberalism seeks to limit our nation’s sovereignty, our individual sovereignty, at the expense of throwing open our borders. We have received a gift of liberty from our founders, and they would see us as weak cowards for squandering that precious gift.

To those immigrants and refugees who seek liberty, say our pledge, take allegiance to our country, bring your heritage but adopt the American culture.
