Alderman Mboka Mwilambwe is running for re-election with 3 people challenging him. The voters in Ward 3 need to know his voting record before deciding if he should be back on the Council May 1st.

Mwilambwe voted to buy the decrepit Sugar Creek Packing property: http://www.cityblm.org/Home/ShowDocument?id=8945
Mwilambwe voted to buy the property on North Main almost a year ago for $1,400,00 for no apparent reason: http://www.cityblm.org/Home/ShowDocument?id=10035
In 2014, then Alderwoman Judy Stearns demanded concessions at the Coliseum be investigated when the CIAM contract was revised for amateur hockey. Only Stearns and Lower took the time to investigate the problems I filed a court case over. Keep in mind the State Police are still investigating. Mwilambwe didn’t care. He voted to approve the change without investigating the issue first. See this post: https://blnnews.com/2016/08/26/bombshell-followup-revisit-april-14-2014/
May 9, 2016 Mwilambwe voted to raise David Hales salary: http://www.cityblm.org/Home/ShowDocument?id=10431
I could make this list of votes MUCH longer!
Ward 3 has a much better alternative: Gary Lambert
Gary has attended 90% of the City Council meetings in the past 4 years. He has been a voice of reason during Public Comment. See one of Gary’s comments on this post from 10/24/2016 at 31:28: https://blnnews.com/2016/10/25/boring-predictable-council-meeting/
You can contact Gary at: [email protected]
Also note Kevin Lower voted NO on every issue.

I’m not in Ward 3 but I see that our girl JOHN-EE is definitely a “YES” girl. Hope our ward take note! Thanks Diane for posting how ALL the council voted..
The media sure won’t tell you!
Alderman Mboka Mwilambwe must not be re-elected to Ward 3. In addition to being in the pocket of Tari Renner he rarely returns phone calls or emails. He represents the city rather than the citizen/taxpayer.
I specifically asked him why the city had purchased the property near IWU for $1,400,000. He stated it was for development purposes. I then asked “why is the city in the development business?” That was several months ago. So far nothing but crickets.
Gary Lambert will listen and represent the people of the Ward.
In the insane world of Bloomington’s sizable Looney Left, any criticism of Mwilambwe will no doubt bring out the Black Lives Matter and Not In Our Town crowd to threaten, intimidate, and possibly riot. Maybe we better just stay quite and show up on Election Day. I wouldn’t want anybody to get hurt–on our side, anyway.
Michael Flynn should run for government here. That way when Bloomington raises sanctions on Normal for enticing Fat Jack’s to move to Uptown, we can look even more ridiculous. If there is 15% turnout for this election, I would consider that a win.
Isn’t that a bar? I thought Normal didn’t want those?
Maggie Miley’s and Medici serve alcohol. Maybe Fat Jack’s will have to add an extensive menu so as to be considered an eatery/bistro. I don’t know if Fat Jack’s is moving but I wouldn’t be surprised.
I think Normal is desperate for more tax money. They lost it when the bars went to Bloomington, now they want it back.
