Declare your Independence!

The 4th of July commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain.  It includes a long list of “repeated injuries and usurpations” of the Americans’ rights and liberties.

FIFTEEN members of the Republican party voted yesterday in the House of Representatives to increase our income taxes 32%:

Republicans voting yes (15): Andersson, Bryant, Cavaletto, Davidsmeyer, Fortner, Hammond, D. Harris, Hays, Jimenez, Meier, B. Mitchell, Phillips, Pritchard, Reis, Unes.

These fifteen prove why the Illinois GOP is merely the minority party assisting Democrats steal from the people of Illinois!  The two in red are from this area, some of the others aren’t Chicago Republicans.  We have been deceived by the party that claims to believe in small government and low taxes.  This vote is proof the GOP believes in neither.

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent

Mike Madigan needed thirteen Republicans to turncoat on the people of Illinois – he got 15.  We tried raising taxes before and the problems only got worse.  A budget was passed spending more money than expected revenue, so taxes were increased.  No spending cuts, no policy changes, just more of the same.  These 15 Republicans aren’t intelligent enough to see the obvious, they therefore must be replaced.

Gov Rauner claims he will veto this bill.  He needs to, but then the House and Senate will re-vote to override.  If Republicans don’t demand real change real change won’t happen.  These 15 need to hear from the governed being terrorized by their supposed elected representatives.

A Federal judge in Chicago last week ordered Illinois to pay hundreds of millions of dollars to Medicaid providers – money Illinois doesn’t have.  Details here

Illinois is becoming a state that spends only for healthcare and pensions, nothing else.  No schools, no roads, no prisons, no previously essential services.

We have no choice but to dissolve the political bands which have connected us to Mike Madigan and the other traitors to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness!

It’s fitting that government failed to obtain the consent of the governed while we celebrated July 4th.  It is our duty to throw off the despotism of such government!

From the original Declaration of Independence:

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

  1. The answer is always the same, more taxes and no cuts. Why do we pay them year around to get the same outcome year after year?

    The folks you mentioned were elected. Not so at the time of the revolution.

  3. Tom–The English Parliament,established centuries before the American Revolution, consisted of elected “commoners.” The Parliament apparently was in support of the king. It was the opposing political parties who became involved in the revolution.
