The Council issued a Resolution, they did not censure Tari Renner for his remarks made on BlnNews.com. The entire video of the meeting is below, it doesn’t officially start until 8:49. Public Comment makes it clear this one incident by the mayor is not the problem. Many citizens made it clear Renner creates the acrimony, a practice this Resolution did nothing to stop. Many of the Council members did not take this seriously. Scott Black was the worst, followed closely by Joni Painter and Diana Hauman.
Tari Renner capped off the meeting by telling people to come to his Open House. Obviously he didn’t take it seriously either. Tari, people now can no longer meet with you in public because YOU changed the rules. Citizens see this as your attempt to make sure nobody can witness what you say. So much for transparency.
The citizens have no rights under the law to remove an elected official. At 14:45 Jeff Jurgens says the Council can remove an elected official in Executive Session.
The Council members in blue are still members of the City Council. Listen to their comments yourself. I’m not going to be accused of not quoting them word for word. Most completely missed that Tari Renner is a serial abuser, that pattern continues to today. His behavior is their fault for tolerating his attacks on anyone who questions him. Yes, governing is easier when everyone agrees, many citizens don’t agree.

That Special Meeting of Feb 2015 was staged by Renner. He chose to leave during Aldermanic comment and vote.

If they had taken the last one seriously, Renner would have been stopped or booted a long time ago.
