Guest Editorial: Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Citizen??

GUEST!

(In response to this story:  https://blnnews.com/2017/11/15/who-called-the-officer-to-the-retreat/)

.

Once upon a time there was a Scary Citizen who actually stood up in public and told The Truth!   And that is enough to scare the bewillikers out of the King and his court!  That is enough to conjure tales of mean and terrible citizens who insult or even assault the King himself!  Oh my!
.
The King called for  a great council of the Lords and Ladies of the Court far from the castle in his hinterlands , deep in the forests of the golf course when there at the gate was the Scary Citizen herself!!   With her absolutely terrifying Words of Truth ready to call the King out on some stuff he was keeping secret with the Court.  The King began to tremble because his Court might not jump in to save him.
.
Then in an instance the Kings Army arrived to protect him and the Court and save the day.  What  sorcery summoned the Kings warriors?  There was a call that wasn’t a call!
.
A dispatch from the castle that came from the mists off the golf course. To be known only to the King, himself!  Cause no one is telling!  And the King was saved from the Scary Citizen by magic, only magic paid for by the citizens themselves.

  1. Fair enough to find out who called as they are telling two different story’s about how the officer was sent there, but the other issue is ridiculous. THE MERE PRESENCE OF AN OFFICE IS NOT INTIMIDATION. What is intimidation is like happened to Deborah Wilson
in Wheeling were they had an officer sit right by the podium as she spoke, and Deborah e\had a very severe complaint against the police department. Thats intimidation. Crying Wolf too much only dilutes the cause. Whenever you attend a public meeting, `expect uniformed and plainclothes officer presence. You might not like it, I might like it, but thats the way it is.

  2. The wee-folk of the forest see all through the mist. Their voices whisper in the wind while growing to a gale.

  3. I find it odd Diane that you would consider the mere presence of an officer as a threat, when last year I wrote an article about my experience picking up a voluminous document for you at the County Clerks office and I was threatened for taking pictures of the signs showing the outrageous fees. Even though there was a sign on the door which I didn’t see that said “No Pictures”, I was legally entitled to take pictures because it was a public place. I argued with the COUNTY CLERK about that, and the battle axes, threw a fit. when I captured a picture of the woman ringing it up, ( the County Clerk had left) , they called the Sheriffs Deputy, and I said fine, I’ll meet him downstairs. The Chief Battle Ax described m and proceed to the loony and walked past the Deputy and went outside and almost got to the parking garage before he asked me to come back. I went in the lobby and I had a discussion with him which got a little heated ( the deputy said he didn’t give a crap about the CONSTITUTION), and the County Clerk walked by grinning like a Cheshire Cat. I told the Deputy either arrest me or let me go, and with that I did a 180 and walked away. Now, that is harassment, and you refused to print that story. Why? Because the County Clerk is a REPUBLICAN? Theres no judge thats going to find Tari or anyone else guilty for merely asking that an officer standby at a public meeting. NOW IF THE OFFICER APPROACHED HER AND MADE THREATS EITHER DIRECT OR IMPLIED, THATS ANOTHER STORY. But to the rest of the public, it makes our cause look like its made up of a bunch of kooks.

    1. See my face book page. It is scary. I’ve never been afraid of the police. I’m afraid of who ever is sending them…we all should be.

      1. Really, what can Renner do to you? I really doubt the police would be stupid enough to be used by him for intimidating citizens, The officers report to the Chief, not Renner and he can’t order then to do something illegal, and I really doubt any of them would do it in the first place. Many of them can’t stand the man. If he approaches you again, tell him to go to hell. Theres no reason to fear that midget.

    2. Wait…Diane refused to print a story because it would make one of her buddies look bad? Tsk, Tsk. Hardly surprising.
Kevin, don’t waste your breath explaining to Diane how one of her blog entries damages the cause. It should be quite evident from the fiasco she and Sue Feldkamp perpetrated against Chuck Erickson on here that only her agenda matters and not the values so much. Jim Birching the McLean County GOP because Diane thinks they are not “conservative” enough is ludicrous. If anything it makes the job harder because good candidates can’t pull enough swing voters. If it makes the establishment or a Democrats potentially look bad, she will have no problem printing it. If she has no verifiable evidence, she will print it. I have never seen her admit she is wrong when she is clearly not right. She thinks she is beyond repute. Any candidate that she lends her support to in local races (other than McLean county because of the rural areas) puts right-of-center candidates at a disadvantage. She doesn’t get that you have to convince Tari’s supporters and not the ones you already have. But until that time, she will continue to flub the cause at the cost of her ego. Tari could have been gone by now but no, we have to endure this mindless posturing between the Tea Party and GOP.

      1. Mea Culpa, I made an error. You know who I meant as I was picking up your documents. If you want to start pointing out errors,I can do so with you as you make quite a few yourself.

  4. Good thing Bloomington doesnt have a crime problem: OH WAIT, it does have a crime problem! Tari more scared of one single woman while the female population of Bloomington are scared of the real crooks, the one Tari never sees.

  5. Yes the union gave him a political contribution but don’t equivalate that as an endorsement by the entire department. It is certainly not.
