Did the Library Board scam the Council?

By:  Diane Benjamin

The email below was written by the Bloomington Public Library Board President.  I redacted who it was written to.  It’s the content that is interesting.

Alex was obviously worried about getting the tax increase passed the Board wanted.  According to this story, the library didn’t say at the Council meeting why they needed the increase:    https://blnnews.com/2017/11/14/downtown-task-force-gets-slapped/

They got your taxes raised.

The email is talking about the upcoming joint meeting of the Library, Council, and Connect Transit.  Doesn’t it sound like the Council was purposely left in the dark so the Library could move forward with their plans?  I wonder how the media feels since they weren’t supposed to know either!

The meeting didn’t take place until January, this email was written in November.  No wonder Tari didn’t appreciate 5 members of the Council cancelling it, planning it was orchestrated long before it took place.  Tari held the meeting anyway and accomplished nothing by doing so.

Think this doesn’t happen ALL the time?

  1. WOW! I certainly hope Citizens are paying attention. Not only is the Council being scammed, the entire city is being scammed!

  2. Oh Alex, “The Bellwether”…really? Are you leading sheep? Have you been castrated? That is what the word means after all.

    1. LOL – priceless, and perfect – I guess since they ARE sheep they need a bellwether to help lead them – I could go on but will refrain since this is a respectable place and all 🙂

  3. Seems Like Alex Cardona is a low down scum who is keeping secrets from the taxpayers and plotting with other “leaders” to increase the size of his fiefdom and raise your taxes, some of which will eventually end up in his pocket. Shouldn’t he be arrested?
