Kroger decided not to expand and now this. These national companies perform constant market analytics. The local market must no longer look good.
Are they talking about Outback Steakhouse place and the Chinese buffet place for lease? It seems like HyVee would be bigger than 9,500+ sq. Ft. But why show HyVee picture? Is it because that is the anchor store? Is it verified by realtors? This is very concerning.

This could be verified by the listing agent. HyVee actually combined three retail spaces when they built the store. There are three square foot parcels listed; 1,600sq,ft., 6,458 sq.ft. and 9,500 sq.ft.
Bad post by the listing agent for sure. Check out the link though. There are some large and valuable pieces of property for sale and rent. Wonder how much the vacancy rate has increased. Maybe the Pantagraph will investigate…hahaha.

This add is simply using Hy-Vee to attract potential business. The Hy-Vee store in Bloomington is over 100,000 sq. ft.
But I agree, Tari and his council (along with Koos and his) need to cut spending, and do it now.

All of us have driven past places that have been vacant for YEARS and we all know that no one is ever going to lease or buy them. The list of retail and office space is growing every month. Yet our media and our city government fixates on “catalyst projects” to pour yet more taxpayer money into a dying downtown area? The patients are running the asylum with Looney Tari directing the show. Our economy is swirling down the drain and his efforts are directed at “welcoming” illegal aliens to our city and welfare system?
Just for the purpose of clarification, is HyVee on their way out? Thank you.
That would be actual journalism. My guess is one of these spaces is Outback due to them building a stand alone shop.

No, Hy-Vee is not for lease, the add clearly states what is for lease.
Outback, Hibachi and Pella Windows are listed. No mention of HyVee. The agent should not have used a picture of HyVee.

My Guess is the Old Hibachi, which was Takos for about 20 minutes before they folded, is for sure one of them, Binny’s seems to do a reasonably steady business, not sure about a couple of the other places.
Ok, just saw the post saying it’s Outback, Pella and old Hibachi.
Outback is SUPPOSED to be moving to a spot at the north end of Eastland mall.
I’m GLAD they are as getting there is WAY too congested with all the HyVee traffic at meal time, BUT, that can all go POOF in a Tari minute!
Meanwhile I’m starting a pool on WHAT kind of inane ideal they will come up with for the old State Farm building DOWNTOWN!
I’m betting apartments/condos.. “UPSCALE” of course, just like Ensenbergers. Even IF they don’t get rented!
Pretty sure HyVee isn’t for sale. It’s spaces within that shopping center that are available. The picture HyVee because that is the “anchor” store.

If you look at bloomington’s commercial real estate site the list keeps growing. Or as my mum says “You cant sling a dead cat without hitting an empty business in Bloomington”
Tari and “the TROOPS” are getting way finding signs for DOWNTOWN, so ALL those business establishments can find it!
Yes those signs will really help promote the downtown to prospective Millennials who are itching to move their high tech startups into the downtown area….Just kidding… they might as well all say, “Dead End” because that is what the downtown has become to everyone living in the real world.
Is the owner of the complex selling it? And when they do, the stores will have a new landlord? I don’t think any of those stores actually own their property.
