RC McBride asked to be excused from voting on payments to WGLT at last night’s Normal Council meeting since he is the General Manager. He did vote on the Harmon Grants, 3 of which went to ISU, also his employer since WGLT is the campus NPR station.
ISU, McBride, and the Town of Normal must not know what ethics and a conflict of interest is.

The City of Bloomington is evidently expecting the homeowners to pay half the cost to fix City property.

State’s Attorney Jason chambers will be a judge! Charges were just dismissed against one of the Coliseum defendants. According to the judge for two reasons: statute of limitations and the charges were too vague. The charging papers came from Chambers’ office. Chambers also passed off the prosecution of Tari Renner for the Japan tickets to the Appellate Court prosecutor (still waiting), and Chambers refused to prosecute Tari Renner when Renner announced years ago he had a new art gallery in his City office! Chambers claimed in an email to me that Home Rule means Renner can sell products on City property. Renner’s policy was quickly changed to art can only be bought at the sponsoring gallery.
This is how judgeships are obtained – don’t make waves.

The Farmer City Council voted to make the City a gun sanctuary. Effingham County did the same. Resolutions are being considered in many counties surrounding McLean.

Bike Blono want bikers humanized. Humans realize (or we used to) that bikes and autos are a dangerous combination. Progressives think we need forced to believe everything they do. Smart people ride bikes where auto traffic isn’t heavy, Bike Blono wants autos obstructed with bike lanes very few people use.
It’s easy to tell who needs humanized.

We had a lady from Danvers who was elected to the McLean County Board, appointed to the Property Board, was also the Danvers Township Tax Assessor, and a realtor when she held those positions. Ethical standards are a thing of the past. We have smoke and mirrors at all levels of government. Mirrors being the things that they let us know about.
Smoke is what they don’t want us to know about.

#2 has been done before – it was a while back, and people on my street had to “contribute our share” as well – it’s criminal IMO – the people have no say, really, about much of anything but they can FORCE ridiculous fines for ridiculous “code infractions” (as well as make people pay the outrageous “bids” made by the “city approved” contractors to fix the “infraction”. work that an independent would/could do for often 1/2 the price IF they were “allowed” to by the city . PLUS we have to pony up if we want city property fixed/repaired as well – When are the elite progressive types who think they run, and indeed do run, this town going to realize that government actually DOES NOTHING and does not generate any income of it’s own? It’s all on us and that means the “us” that make 20-30 something thousand as well as the “us” who make 120 something thousand, both have to pay the city to fix what the city calls THEIRS – needless to say it effects person A far more than person B. I know of more than one lower income individual who has lost or nearly lost their homes to these compassion less vultures because they simply could not afford to pay, not because they were “lazy and didn’t care”.
#4? LOL LOL – BloNo would rather all guns be confiscated “NO ONE needs a Gun, especially in their HOMES!!!!” and don’t get me started on #6.
I know one County Board member has raised the issue. Maybe others will too.
I guess we can have some sliver of hope then.
