The zoning changes Bloomington has been working on since 2016, and paid $125,000 to a consultant for, are being heard and voted on TONIGHT!
No, tonight isn’t a regular meeting, it isn’t even a Committee of the Whole. It’s a Special meeting called only for the zoning changes.
Two hours and twenty minutes are scheduled. Since according to the media it’s only about downtown, chickens and bees – I predict it won’t last that long. It’s really about “right fit” and the City’s ability to control property. Tonight free markets, liberty, and capitalism get replaced by government control.

The vote on a Resolution tonight is part of the process of moving the final adoption of the Zoning changes forward, similar to how TIFs are moved forward. Resolution tonight, Public notification followed by Public Hearing. The official final vote will be scheduled for November.
Take note of the stakeholders who have been included in the process which is included in the meeting packet.
Tari and his ilk took over and/or expanded their control of liquor licenses, local transportation (bike paths, Connect Transit), and “cultural enrichment”/entertainment, so now it’s on to zoning. What area of our lives don’t they want to control?! By the way, this zoning takeover is just beginning with Downtown. Wait till they hit the mall and Veteran’s Parkway. Big slippery slope here, folks.
It should be called “Tari’s Jewel of Tyranny in the Mid-West.”

Yep, in a nutshell – the other little hidden part because they are focusing on bees and chickens is the left is 100% against any forms of self sufficiency, unless of course it is done by eager little leftists out to make a buck by charging 3 times what their products are worth that is. In other words, buy REAL free range eggs from a nice little conservative “egg lady” and get your lovely eggs for 2-3 bucks a dozen OR buy your eggs from some leftist loons who tout their “vegetarian fed” hens and pay 7 dollars a dozen (note to non farm/country people, actual free range chickens are not “vegetarian fed”, chickens eat bugs, they LOVE bugs.) It’s just that simple – Tarry and company condone the second people and disparage and sneer at the first ones.
