The biggest threat to the Republic is uninformed people. We are being destroyed from within by the people charged with Freedom of the Press in order to defend us against tyranny. Much of media is purposely misinforming people by never reporting all sides of issues. Media is reporting their agenda thus polarizing the nation into citizens who only know facts from the left and those who only know facts from the right. There isn’t any “truth” reported.

I emailed the author and asked if he tried to find anyone holding the opposite opinion. No response.

The article is student’s responses to Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation.
A theater major claims it proves the country disregards the oppression of woman. She also claims the 60 vote threshold in the Senate was repealed. (Democrat Harry Reid changed it in 2013 to every other judge, GOP included Supreme Court)
Facts don’t matter.
She goes on to say women face systematic oppression. Old white men are oppressing women and minorities. I’m sure she doesn’t know that the policies of the current administration have resulted in extremely low unemployment rates for all – including women and minorities. She might even be able to find a job when she graduates with her degree in theater.
The author next talked to the Democrat’s social media coordinator. He claims the GOP doesn’t care about public opinion. “Alleged” assaults means Kavanaugh lied. Once again innocent until proven guilty isn’t part of Democrat thinking.
A biochemisty major claims Kavanaugh’s demeanor should have kept him off the court. I’m sure she missed that hearings had been held for two weeks. The Ford issues were not brought up until after the hearings were over, even though the Democrats had her letter for at least 6 weeks. A third accuser claimed he organized “rape trains”. After decades of public service and 6 FBI investigations Kavanaugh had every right to an “aggressive tone”.
Again, facts don’t matter.

I hope Andrew isn’t planning a career in media. He made no attempt in two stories to cover all sides of the story. ISU student deserve better. Evidently Illinois State University doesn’t think they do.
Why can’t we have a civil discourse? Because the media wants to make sure people don’t have enough facts to make decisions for themselves.

Yes there are some striking similarities to what is happening now to what happened before the great Civil War here in the United States.
Due respect the vote in 2013 was for all judges below SCOTUS. The Republicans changed it to all judges.
Sorry, you are right. No Republicans voted for changing the rules, Harry just wanted to get more leftists judges appointed. I hope hearings aren’t even held for the next nominee. The circus wasn’t worth it.

Reid changed it for every judge except the Supreme Court. The Republicans decided it applied to all of them.
When I eat lunch in uptown there is usually a Vidette laying around and I read it for a good laugh. They usually take the current hot button issue and have an editorial about it. Think up the most radical liberal take on the issue and it will be parroted in the article. There is no fresh perspective it is just copy and paste from any CNN, HLN or MSNBC source.
I can imagine… The corporate media is dividing the nation with it’s lies and propaganda – higher education goes right along with them…

Thanks to Donald Trump, Andrew is well positioned to get a job after he graduates at Clinton New Network (CNN), or MSNBC or just about any other news agency in America. I for one believe the American people are smarter than this and while I totally expect Illinois to turn the deepest shade of blue come November, I’m confident this is not a fair representation of the country as a whole. I’ve resigned myself to accept that the Democrats in Illinois are going to have to completely run the state into the ground with JB Porkchop in charge. The only way forward is bankruptcy. The public pensions will have to go bust and then we can start completely over. Sorry state employees, but Mike Madigan sold you all a bill of goods.

Seriously, when I was a student the vedette was for a “humorous break” from the grind of study, and to get the folks “ticked off” when left it laying around. It’s STILL the same. Probably the same old crusty people writing the MAIN gist of the rag. And a theatre major. OK she’s oppressed, because she has blue hair, dresses in black has 20 year old converse shoes and wears jockey shorts around the house. She’s MAD because people don’t take her SERIOUS for what she IS-A drama queen!! At least Geology majors can gracefully become OLD FOSSILS!!

Perhaps somebody should report Mr Dougherty and his interviewees to ISU. Their ‘Redbird Care Team’ allegedly wants to know when students exhibit behaviors that can be characterized as one or more of ‘unhealthy’, ‘potentially dangerous’, “Exaggerated and inappropriate emotional responses”, “Disruptive behavior”, “Inability to communicate clearly due to garbled speech or disconnected thoughts”, “Loss of touch with reality (e.g., individuals report hearing or seeing things that do not exist or express beliefs that conflict with reality)”. Sounds like your average social justice warrior to me…
