Updated: Bloomington Bills for Monday

Check out the speaker list at the US Conference of Mayors.  It was a party for leftists.

I wonder if Jenn Carrillo and Jeff Crabill know the City already does lots of wealth redistribution?

All of the below are low or no interest loans and grants just in this one check run.  I wonder if either know about the almost $2 million in loans the City has to low-income people?   https://blnnews.com/2018/12/31/part-4-is-bloomington-a-bank/

See PDF page 81 – 83 for details

I wonder where these 4 are going and why? I suspect visiting a sports complex somewhere since reps from Normal already took a trip.  Is this a fund-raiser for the Convention and Visitors Bureau, seems strange going anywhere is $1600 each.

We know where Tari is – this doesn’t include travel, lodging, and whatever else he incurs.  Joe Biden was a speaker!  https://www.c-span.org/video/?457196-1/vice-president-biden-addresses-us-conference-mayors

Speakers also included Nancy Pelosi, Rahm Emmanuel, Michael Bloomberg, David Hogg, Cory Booker, and Bill de Blasio.  Climate Change and Gun control were prominent.  Chris Koos was there too.

Who believes this is a repair bill? (Information Services)  At the last meeting they approved $260,870 for new police computers from CDS Office Technologies, this isn’t that:    https://blnnews.com/2019/01/13/bloomington-council-for-monday-if-the-roads-get-cleared/

A few days ago I wrote about David Hales charging purchases on what he called a Capital Lease and how Tim Gleason wants to Pay-As-You-Go.    https://blnnews.com/2019/01/23/bloomingtons-fun-last-night/

These are examples just from this check run of payments on Hales’s Capital Leases:  (PDF pages 122, 125, 134, 137)  Some amounts may be the same, but they are all individual checks.

Remember the budget process every other year?  There was always a “structural deficit”.  Fees and taxes had to be raised while the City claimed to be making cuts.

All of a sudden this year there is a surplus.  Council members are likely touring a sports complex in anticipation of building one here – even though the consultant said it would never break even.  A new pool is needed for O’Neil park, instead some Council members want a water park and will call it economic development.

They are working on one more thing because THEY want it, not because there is a need.  That story is next.

This is why your roads will never get fixed.  They aren’t a priority.

  1. Two former families of former residents of B-N visited recently and the first question they asked was: “What is with the roads in B-N, they are terrible.” I guess they are very happy they don’t live here anymore.

The council’s don’t care about bringing visitors here or they would fix the roads instead of embarrassingly spending the money on their whims and fancies.
