Yes, Hitler was a socialist

By:  Diane Benjamin

April 30th marks the 7th anniversary of BlnNews.  It has evolved over time and will continue to evolve.  One thing I will no longer tolerate is re-writing history to fit somebody’s agenda.  Lately several people have tried to claim Hitler wasn’t a socialist – of course the reason for the re-write is because of the rise in socialism here.  The local democratic socialists are just like Hitler was when he began his rise to power.

It should be pretty clear Hitler was a socialist by the name of his party:  National Socialist German Workers’ Party

He was elected, socialists always start that way.  From there they devolve into tyranny, murder, and theft of private sector assets simply because they can.  Hitler disarmed the people, those sent to death camps had no way of fighting back.  Figure out why our 2nd Amendment is vital yet?

See this article for a ton of other details:  Yes Virginia, Hitler really was a socialist

Excerpts:

Yes, Hitler and the Nazis were socialists, for the simple reasons that they were staunchly anti-capitalist and believed that the means of production in their society should be controlled by a centralized state power. That is very clear from their writings, their words and their actions. Done and done.

This statement alone should marginalize anyone who doesn’t believe in capitalism.  It’s a clear case for freedom versus domination.  Capitalism produces liberty, every other form of government enslaves populations.  Ask the local “progressives” what they think of capitalism.  All of them believe they are smarter than everybody else, given enough time they will be socialists.

More Excerpts:

First, because when examined over a timeline it becomes perfectly clear that yes, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party was an extremely, very clearly socialist-aligned organization at the time of their founding. One could argue that over time the specific manifestation of Nazi-socialism did drift away from what is today viewed as “classical”‘ or archetypal socialism (also a misnomer, which I’ll cover shortly) and toward a nationalistic, “Germanified” socialism. During the build-up to war, it then morphed further into economic-statist policies of fascism and eventually a fascist-dictatorship.

Second, it’s vital to note the shift and migration “from” socialism “to” a dictatorship because this is almost always what ends up happening when socialism, communism and/or Marxism implemented in any country (as evidenced by Germany’s Hitler, the Soviet Union’s Joseph Stalin, China’s Mao Zedong, Cuba’s Fidel Castro, Venezuela’s Nicolás Maduro, etc).

The referenced articles lists arguments made by those trying to re-write history, it also debunks all of them.  If truth matters, read the rest.

In the future I may or may not approve comments.  If the person obviously isn’t interested in facts other than the ones they have been indoctrinated to believe, their comments will not be approved.

At other times I may post the comments when I have time to respond properly.  In the past I’ve responded too fast because I was interrupted while working on something else.  If a comment isn’t approved right away, I might get to it later.

  1. I was just tweeting about this yesterday. Here is the tweet: National Socialism was the foundation behind the Nazi Party & now Democratic Socialism is the foundation of the Democratic Party? Adolf Hitler would be so proud to see this happen!

Yes the party that I spent 50 + years supporting is now scary and I want to do everything I can to stop it.

And finally: Thank you for your service Diane, to our community and your unselfish devotion to truth, justice and the values that make America great!

  2. NEVERSILENT The Radical Democratic Socialists here are vile, vulgar, vindictive, and somewhat dangerous.
The only choice is to stand and patiently watch them implode, NEVERSILENT, if you have suggestions on courses of action against this pack of freaks please share. Still a Stevenson Democrat.
Diane, brilliant work today, I hold you in esteem.

  3. Congratulations on your 7 years of excellent reporting and TRUTH in the news, without “twisting” it like so many other outlets do.
As for Socialism and the Nazis, ASK any WWII veteran (before they are ALL gone) about the Nazis and THEIR ideal of “socialism” which did eventually lead to a dictatorship of the extreme type, and ANYONE who disagreed with WHAT was stated by the “powers that be” had a death wish.. which the state was more then happy to fulfill!!

  4. And it was their 10 pfennig dental plan that really brought Germany to its knees. No, Hitler was not a socialist. Just because NAZI had “socialist” in their name didn’t make them so. If that was true, then North Korea would be a Democratic Republic with busy hotel on their beaches. Hitler was too busy waging war and invading Poland, Russia and the rest of the world to be bothered with socialism. Hitler had not interest in “socialism” at any point in his dictatorship. To state that he did is historically wrong. You are taking one word out of context.

“Nazism is a form of FASCISM (not socialism) and showed that ideology’s disdain for liberal democracy and the parliamentary system, but also incorporated fervent antisemitism, scientific racism, and eugenics into its creed. Its extreme nationalism came from Pan-Germanism and the Völkisch movement prominent in the German nationalism of the time, and it was strongly influenced by the anti-Communist Freikorps paramilitary groups that emerged after Germany’s defeat in World War I, from which came the party’s “cult of violence” which was “at the heart of the movement.”

There is NOTHING there about socialism or using socialism. In modern democracies socialism is the use of the common good of government to benefit its citizens. You are continuing to conflate socialism with fascism and totalitarianism.

    1. Evidently reading the publication difficult. Hitler was elected – as a socialist. He evolved into worse. Name one socialist country that prospers. Don’t say Sweden or synchronizing countriy. They aren’t socialist! They are even sick of Americans calling them socialist countries.

    2. Your incomplete and what I would call a rudimentary knowledge of both National Socialism and the socialist components in a few Capitalist countries shows that you really don’t know what you are talking about.

Rather than spend the time to completely destroy your weak arguments, I will present some evidence of the signs of growing fascism and totalitarianism on the American Democratic Left.

      1. Free speech is being assaulted on college campuses and everywhere else in America by the left. We now have “acceptable speech and opinions and unacceptable speech and opinions”. Conservatives on YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook are blocked, shadow banned and removed everyday without reason. This is the first sign of a growing totalitarianism or fascism.
      2. There is active talk of the confiscation of firearms by the Democratic left (Hitler and many others like him confiscated firearms from the people to insure their power could not be questioned or fought)
      3. Propagandizing and moving the corporate/deep state elites’ narrative through a cooperative servile national media. Yes, Joseph Goebbels would be amazed at how our main-stream media serves the liberal elites, corporate elites and the deep state. For two years, they perpetuated a hoax against our president that had no basis in fact.
      4. The Democratic Party has become the party of division and violence. How many times have there been calls for either the killing of our president or the jailing of our duly elected president? Violence occurs every day against anyone wearing a “MAGA” hat. Intimidating, jailing or assassinating political opponents is a common technique used by totalitarians and fascist to consolidate power.
      5. The new proposed Green New Deal and signed onto by every Democratic presidential nominee is more than a way to address climate change. At it’s heart, it dictates a need to end capitalism and freedom of choice for all Americans. It is Fascism disguised as egalitarianism with the aim of giving the government total control over the United States economy and people, for the “good” of the world’s climate. There is always a reason for Fascist to seize control. In Germany, it was to preserve the German Family and right the wrongs of the Treaty of Versailles.

I know that few have time to study the rise of Fascism in Germany before WW2, but there are as you can see above stark similarities that should alarm anyone. This lifelong 50+ year former Democrat is alarmed and you should be too!

    3. NeverSilent made a great response, but I feel there are two points that need to be added:

The modern American left has its own ‘cults of violence’ – BLM and AntiFA; the ‘heart of the leftist movement’ isn’t violence, it’s just hate, but it’s only a small step from one to the other.

Complaining somebody is ‘conflat[ing] socialism with fascism and totalitarianism’ is like complaining about conflating pulling the trigger with shooting someone – they may indeed be different things, but they are causally related. Socialism is an unstable system. Usually, it naturally evolves into dictatorship and death like in Germany, Russia, China, Korea, Cambodia, Venezuela and many other places. In rare instances, people wake up and roll it back as in Sweden.

Things like the elections of Trump and Stan Nord show there is still hope that the US will be another ‘rollback country’ vs another ‘death country’, but the jury’s still out…

  5. Hitler was very fond of his dog “Blondi” until he poisoned it. Not only did he build nice highways, he had the ability to mesmerize huge crowds. Hitler said in his book -anyone who has looked at us and seen a political movement has seen nothing-

  6. Wow! How crazy is it that local libturds are defending Hitler? Not to mention the fact that calling anyone who disagrees with them a Nazi.

  7. Also note that Hitler was a HUGE environmentalist . He could be one of the first Global Warming idiots out there.

  8. Diane, I agree with this. But I don’t think Hitler was a nationalist however. After all, there were German Jews put in a concentration camps.
