It’s hard to understand why the General Assembly in Springfield opens each day of session with prayer, but they do. When a Catholic Bishop in Springfield announced the leadership would not be allowed to take communion, Mike Madigan’s response was: “I don’t go to church anyway”.
Duh, Mike. That is obvious.
After passing an horrendous abortion bill proving that no lives are sacred, this happened on May 31st:
SPRINGFIELD – Pastor Corey Musgrave of the New Beginnings Church in Fairfield, Illinois led the Illinois House in prayer Friday, asking God to judge the state for its abortion policy:
So, God, we have made our appeals to the leaders of Illinois this week on behalf of those innocent babies who do not yet have a voice. We have been a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves as You have commanded us. Those appeals were denied, but we have one final appeal left and that is to the courts of Heaven.
God Almighty, I make an appeal to Heaven today, to You the perfect judge, the One who presides over Heaven’s court.
I ask you to rise up, oh God, and judge Illinois for the sanctioned destruction of the innocent unborn. For when Your judgements are in this state, the inhabitants of Illinois learn righteousness. In this House I pray for justice to roll down like water and righteousness like a mighty river. In Your judgement I pray that You would remember mercy for we know that You, oh God, do not want anyone to be destroyed.
I ask this in the name of Your son, the one who died for a sinner like me, the one who was appointed to judge the living and the dead. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
Of course the media didn’t mention it.
Too many people in the political arena are arrogant and are ignorant. They are a grand disservice to the citizens that they believe that they are serving. It takes a unanimous jury of twelve to take away a life.
Gabriel will be happy and hell will become ANOTHER overpopulated place!
As for abortion, I DO NOT take a SOLID stance, as I BELIEVE that IF you “fool around” you meet the piper and the piper wants his due, so IF you are NOT into “family planing” but your behavior speaks otherwise, then YOU are the one who should CONSIDER the possible outcome, NOT the court, politicians or clergy… As YOU will be EXPECTED to give UNCONDITIONAL LOVE to the being which you conceive! IF you DO NOT , then you are failing in your duties as a fellow human!
On the OTHER side of the court, there are MANY who are a GOOD argument for abortion, starting with politicians…..

I have nothing but respect for the Bishop for his prayer made on Friday. My heart and brain often tug at each other on this topic, and to be honest, I’m not sure how I feel, so maybe readers can help me. Is there ever ANY reason why an abortion would be appropriate?
Not if you think it’s a human life that would be murdered in the process.
I don’t know anyone who regretted carrying a baby to term even if they gave it up for adoption or the baby was disabled. I do know woman who 30 years later still regret an abortion.
The Pantagraph mentioned it…so…….yeah. Maxima, look up “ectopic pregnancy” if you want a medical reason for abortion. It’s when a fertilized egg implants itself in a woman’s Fallopian tube, ovary, cervix, abdomen or the corner of the uterus. Nothing can be done to save or continue the pregnancy and there is no procedure to “re-implant” the egg in the proper spot of the uterus. So an abortion is an option to reduce the likelihood of hemorrhaging and rupture of said structures.
A mother could also miscarry and if there is a fetus or other tissues, a dilation and extraction can be performed. This is done because there is a risk of the mother contracting an infection from the dead tissues. After 20 weeks, the doctor would induce labor to deliver a still born or miscarried baby.
Ectopic doesn’t equal an abortion. Nobody would consider those two equal since delivery is never an option. Miscarriage is the same thing, there is no baby.
