Press Release on Impeachment

PRESS RELEASE:   EFFECTIVE UPON RELEASE 12/18/19  7:45pm

RE:  Impeachment Proceedings against President Trump

Connie Beard, Chairman of the McLean County Republicans released the following statement:

“The impeachment process, as conducted by the House Democrats, has been abused and diminished. The framers of our constitution did not design it to be used as a weapon by a political party at odds with a President, over matters that do not meet the standard of treason, bribery, high crimes and misdemeanors.  No proof of crimes or evidence of malpractice has been presented.  The actions of the House Democrats jeopardize the integrity of the impeachment process for future administrations.  Being at odds with the style of governing by a sitting president does not constitute grounds for impeachment.   The hope is that the Senate will make quick work of their portion of the trial as the American people have no taste for what they are being served by Congress.”

Well said Connie!

  1. This sham doesn’t happen If GOP didn’t choke away 2018 midterms. We need to stand united in 2020 and win back House. We can win 3 seats back in Illinois. Our best shot is in the 3rd district against Commie Lipinski. Arthur Jones is a brave, courageous, patriotic American. Vote Jones!!!

    1. Diane, do you realize that Arthur Jones is a neo-nazi who denies the Holocaust and was literally the leader of the American Nazi Party? Why did you approve the comment made in support of him? Do you support Arthur Jones’ candidacy? Oh and don’t bother deleting the comment because it’s all archived on the internet and everybody can see it.

  2. To paraphrase Yamamoto, all they have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve. The first hammer will drop on the rats and their DS buddies at 4:48pm Dec. 19, 2019.

  3. We, my friends MAY be witnessing the TOTAL demise of the Democratic/Socialist party as we know it.
I believe this is GOING to come back and haunt them..

      1. So you’re supporting a president who shook down a foreign country for his own personal gain. A president who had to pay 25 million for fraud in a fake university, 2 million for a fraudulent charity. A president who paid thousands in hush money to cover up his sordid sexual affair while married to his third wife. A president who mocks gold star families and those who serve. A president who we as tax payers shell out millions so he can golf on his own personal property. The very same president that we as tax payers shell out millions so that our military has to refuel at his Scottish property. A president who employs his children and spouses in the White House. A president who uttered at a rally that a Democratic representative was in hell. This and his racism, xenophobia, misogyny and sheer hatred of any norms is on record. Apparently this is what your defending a horrible little man who history will judge harshly. FYI, Impeachment is in the Constitution so you point is—?

  4. FACE FIRST: Your listed “offenses” are not impeachable actions. You are just “offended” by Trump as president. Many presidents have offended a lot of people but that is not a legal reason for impeachment according to the Constitution of the United States.

  5. From Christianity Today:

Trump Should Be Removed from Office
It’s time to say what we said 20 years ago when a president’s character was revealed for what it was.

“But the facts in this instance are unambiguous: The president of the United States attempted to use his political power to coerce a foreign leader to harass and discredit one of the president’s political opponents. That is not only a violation of the Constitution; more importantly, it is profoundly immoral.

The reason many are not shocked about this is that this president has dumbed down the idea of morality in his administration. He has hired and fired a number of people who are now convicted criminals. He himself has admitted to immoral actions in business and his relationship with women, about which he remains proud. His Twitter feed alone—with its habitual string of mischaracterizations, lies, and slanders—is a near perfect example of a human being who is morally lost and confused.

To the many evangelicals who continue to support Mr. Trump in spite of his blackened moral record, we might say this: Remember who you are and whom you serve. Consider how your justification of Mr. Trump influences your witness to your Lord and Savior. Consider what an unbelieving world will say if you continue to brush off Mr. Trump’s immoral words and behavior in the cause of political expediency. If we don’t reverse course now, will anyone take anything we say about justice and righteousness with any seriousness for decades to come? Can we say with a straight face that abortion is a great evil that cannot be tolerated and, with the same straight face, say that the bent and broken character of our nation’s leader doesn’t really matter in the end?
