The HOI re-Open gang has a plan (a bad one)

By:  Diane Benjamin

WEEK held a Facebook live event with the numerous area mayors this morning.  They have constructed their own re-open plan.  They were experiencing many technical difficulties trying to get all the mayors to weigh in.  It will be posted at peoriagov.org eventually.

Completely missed is the governor has no power to say no or yes to the plan, they do plan to go forward without his permission however.  Anyone licensed by the State will still be at risk from the vindictive Pritzker.

A reporter from WHOI asked if they intended to violate Pritzker’s Executive Order.  Just another media guy who doesn’t know his order expired.

The plan revolves around local health departments running the re-open.  According to the law they have no authority except to CLOSE businesses and only with a court order.  They have no authority in the law to say who can open or at what capacity.  I don’t know if this group is pandering to Pritzker or doesn’t know the law.

Tari Renner was on the call.  He stated “public health” is the main goal.  Where is that one in the law Tari?  Do you believe you have authority over every aspect of life to “keep people safe”?  Are you curing cancer and heart problems next?

See this problematic document:  http://www.peoriagov.org/content/uploads/2020/05/RESTORE-HOI-Reopening-Plan_1589384022_add.pdf

Get past the fluff by jumping to PDF page 9 and following.  Many parts give local health departments powers they don’t have in the law, this is the worst:

illegal health depart

First, they want a SNITCH culture!  Yes, let’s bring in fascistic tactics to “keep us safe”.

The second paragraph means business owners have no Due Process Rights.  The law says health officials have to take you to court and have a judge rule on their opinion.  This “plan” claims some ordinance says the Public Health Administrator can declare a business closed.  The business owner will not be allowed due process if they refuse to kneel before an un-elected bureaucrat.

Welcome to China folks!

This plan thinks you aren’t smart enough to run your own life and still be safe.

  1. Snitch culture……I like that hahahaha. Our very own Stasi on the prairie for comrade Karen. Coming soon to a village near you…..”this is our life now”

    1. I’m really upset you beat me to the Stasi reference. Kudos to you.

Fun Fact: At the zenith of it’s power and oversight, it is said that the Stasi had a paid agent or informant for every seven citizens of East Germany.

  2. Yet President Trump and his supporters are routinely referred to as “fascists” by the Democrats and the far left?

Pardon my observation here but: It appears that underneath the Democrats veneer of respectability are Goose Stepping Fascists just salivating for the chance to resurrect their 4th Reich.

I think we need to just say no to Democratic Nazis and their constitution violating BS!

You can either stand up and say NO MORE or prepare yourself for a train ride to a reeducation camp (or worse).

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

  3. I will mention again (as I did elsehwere) May 20th would be another good day for Open Illinois to be heard in Springfield. Let those representatives know how you feel since they apparently are coming to Springfield to do their job. The open HOI is a good idea but as always those who wrote it are more interested in getting power than what is good for the serfs. Now on WEEK doing something with technical difficulties? Surely you jest. They may be a group that can not handle doing things any better than the Normal, IL IT leader. Just look at the nightly errors during their news and remember how well they handled the state basketball selection show. Their production department is pathetic. Their newsroom field reporters are no better. They haven’t a clue in making sure the questions they ask reflect the current status of the topic being discussed.
