The cost to taxpayers:

No location was identified in the documents I received.  How do they know the cost without one?  Or, maybe they do know but we haven’t been told.

  1. In the mid-90’s I knew a guy that worked in property acqusition for State Farm. During a conversation one time I asked and he told me that in planning for cost over runs that SF figures any bid plus 25% and the “Bloomington factor.” WIth that info if the cost estimate of which of course the bid will be higher and because none of the bafoons on the council knows jack about construction costs (nor do they care) ya might as well figure that $14 mil in the mid $20 millions before it’s all said and done. Then of course the local tax payers will get stuck with the extra costs.

  2. I have listened with my own ears to Tammy Duckworth, Tari Renner, and Chris Koos speak. I have seen written comments by Renner and Koos on FB and other media. None of the three wrote those letters. They are punctually and grammatically correct. It was likely “professional staff” in each case. Why? Just another theft of taxpayer money.

    1. Koos Koos’ letter is dated March 26, before Cathy Oloffson taking over as minister of propaganda for the people’s republic town of Normal. More likely the “professional” staff of Connect Transit wrote it for him. That offers more possibilities. Mike McCurdy? Julie Hile?

    2. I thought the same thing. Also they are all laid out in same format, with same information or thoughts….seems odd to me that not one letter had anymore information about the community than the other letters.

      1. It’s how the government handout game is played. It’s not even a matter of need or your ability to prove the need. Yesterday JB Pritzker was in town to hand out money based on a random lottery. Screw the application process. We’re now issuing lottery tickets. Intelligent people need not apply. If I were a betting man, this will be approved. This will be as big if not bigger government debacle than the fire station on Six Points Road.

    1. DISGRUNTLED DAVE –
LOL! “McClean” Funny, no it is sad.
Seriously, how do we make them STOP spending tax dollars on these unnecessary pet projects???

  3. They all support rewarding Connect with more of our tax dollars for structures…none of them care enough to get Connect to restore service to the lower income, better serve the VA Clinic, or purchase right size buses.

The transfer center will end up making the commute longer. Pinning economic vitality on the pocketbooks of bus riders is ignorant. The transfer center is just because Normal got one.

I have lost more respect for each of the names mentioned.
