  1. The whole premise of DACA is a myth. Most of those taking advantage of the program are just as well off if not better than any U.S. born citizen. Most were “not brought here by parents” but came here on their own through a network of coyotes and drug cartel smugglers. Most were of age when they crossed the border. Also, a significant number receiving DACA benefits are illegal aliens from English speaking foreign countries. Recipients of DACA benefits also include residents of India, Pakistan, the Middle East and Nigeria. Like Chinese students, this scam is all tied to money. You can bet ISU is getting some kind of kickback from somewhere, likely the federal government. Educate them in a way they will vote liberal for life and we will pay you for it. It’s no different than a Mafia operation. Besides, ISU has always had a history of screwing off its white male student population.

  2. Gee poor white male students.

    DACA is a scam? Here are the guidelines:

    You may request DACA if you:

    Were under the age of 31 as of June 15, 2012;
    Came to the United States before reaching your 16th birthday;
    Have continuously resided in the United States since June 15, 2007, up to the present time;
    Were physically present in the United States on June 15, 2012, and at the time of making your request for consideration of deferred action with USCIS;
    Had no lawful status on June 15, 2012, meaning that:
    You never had a lawful immigration status on or before June 15, 2012, or
    Any lawful immigration status or parole that you obtained prior to June 15, 2012, had expired as of June 15, 2012;
    Are currently in school, have graduated or obtained a certificate of completion from high school, have obtained a general education development (GED) certificate, or are an honorably discharged veteran of the Coast Guard or Armed Forces of the United States; and
    Have not been convicted of a felony, significant misdemeanor, or three or more other misdemeanors, and do not otherwise pose a threat to national security or public safety. Have resided continuously in the U.S. since June 15, 2007;
    Had come to the United States before your 16th birthday
    Were physically present in the United States; and
    Are in school, have graduated from high school in the United States, or have a GED; or
    Are an honorably discharged veteran of the Coast Guard or Armed Forces of the United States

      1. Diane just asked what I was going to – many falsify ages to get here by saying they are a kid, it’s easy to look younger especially if you are a smaller build such as many Guatemalans and many indigenous/mestizo Mexicans are. They don’t exactly scoot over the border with a bunch of official “papers”. This is like when “they” say “Illegals can’t get any benefits” LOL LOL LOL I’ve had MEXICANS IN MEXICO tell me that’s exactly why some do come over, it’s for the BENEFITS. I’m never sure if the people who spout that nonsense as “Roger” just spouted actually are that gullible or if they are complicit in or at least complacent with the scamming.

      2. You know I can only do so much about information to counter your misinformation. If you actually used the link I gave you, your question would be answered:
        Passport with admission stamp
        Form I-94/I-95/I-94W
        School records from the U.S. schools you have attended
        Any Immigration and Naturalization Service or DHS document stating your date of entry (Form I-862, Notice to Appear)
        Travel records
        Hospital or medical records
        Employment records (pay stubs, W-2 Forms, etc.)
        Official records from a religious entity confirming participation in a religious ceremony
        Copies of money order receipts for money sent in or out of the country
        Birth certificates of children born in the U.S.
        Dated bank transactions
        Automobile license receipts or registration
        Deeds, mortgages, rental agreement contracts
        Tax receipts, insurance policies

        From Peabody “Your response to my post is typical of a university or college academic hack, immigration attorney or someone who has been scamming the system since birth. You can paste the legalese all you want”

        My response is from the United States Government US Citizenship and Immigration Services web site. I’m someone who has been scamming the system since birth? You based that on what? Your bigotry and prejudices I guess.

        Boy oh boy you’re incredibly sorry for yourself. Nothing like throwing a pity party for yourself. Maybe you’re not as you advertise yourself, a victim, ever think of that? Perhaps you should get help for your paranoid victimhood. Who was going on about American opportunities? You. Apparently it’s someone else’s fault you didn’t get what you wanted, where is your personal responsibility?

        Dreamers want to be citizens, its only because of our broken immigration system so many people can’t be citizens.

    1. Your response to my post is typical of a university or college academic hack, immigration attorney or someone who has been scamming the system since birth. You can paste the legalese all you want but the fact is the program is used for total political purposes whether you want to own up to it or not. If these people were true burgers in America and it’s opportunities, they would already be attempting to become citizens the right way through the legal channels available to them for decades. Why do you continually see the little Dreamers constantly protesting about their “rights” here with foreign flags proudly displayed front and center? I’ll play the same game you played with me. Make an effort and look up the many news stories out there about how the program gets scammed constantly by those it was never intended for but you wouldn’t be interested. I can also tell your likely a race baiter since you don’t think white males can possibly be discriminated against which I was many times at ISU (for jobs, financial assistance and through placement services) not to say anything in the general job market. Take your social justice and go shove it!

      1. ^^^ uh huh, and that up there. You know right away who these people who speak like that are when they start with their listing of the “rules” and the like.

  3. “Gee poor white male students.” No Roger, you’ve got it all wrong. We (white folk) are completely fine with equal treatment. It’s the preferential treatment that (the illegals are getting) is flat out wrong. We (I) have worked my tail off for everything I have. Just be fair. Just be equal. And this white folk is cool with that. BTW Roger why you always changing your moniker? You’re an easy one to spot. Might as well just wave your red sickled flag.

  4. I do not understand a few things, but this is not knew..My Grandfather came to this country in the bottom of wooden ship. He went to Chicago from New York and signed up to Declare his citizenship. Why do these people not follow through and declare their citizenship? I have never researched this, I could use Google I suppose but so could they.

    1. The immigration and citizenship process is significantly more convoluted now. It is very evident that you “have never researched this” and yes you could definitely “use Google.”

      1. Having had many ancestors come here from Europe I do know that is correct, it wasn’t EASY but there were a few less hoops to jump through. One side of my family has been here since long before there even was a “USA” though so they didn’t have any hoops to jump through, legally anyway. I do believe that the whole system needs a major overhaul, and like a Mexican woman in Mexico told me “The United States could fix a LOT of their border problems if they just could find a way to shut off ALL benefits, that way only people who have saved some money AND are willing to work when they get there would be so quick to come over.” Another thing that needs fixed is the coyote problem and the human trafficking, it is horrendous. Trump was doing a LOT to make some headway, but that will also be scrapped now that The Big Guy is at the helm

  5. 1. Laws are immaterial. You can quote a law’s text all you want, anything it says is conveniently ignored when the situation calls for it.
    2. I will say, once again, that I can’t wait for ISU to close and for all the worthless hacks that are employed there to be out of a job. That place is a cesspool, and a money pit.
    3. Roger sounds like a racist and sexist piece of shit. I don’t remember anyone saying anything about white males, except for him. I repeat my comment from a few days ago, the only reason I pay any attention to race or sex is because shitheads like Roger shove that garbage in my face 24/7. I never cared about any of that nonsense until leftists told me I had to.
    4. DACA is a scam. Deal with it.

  6. Roger, we’re not going to win in the long run with your misunderstanding of basic concepts. You ask for the illegals to get a fair break by putting them on a pedestal and handing out opportunity that was not earned. At the same time you stereotype white males while insinuating that white males are the problem. If you want to preach equality, you have to understand equality. EQUAL! Look it up in the dictionary fool. I swear it’s people like you that make us all look like idiots.

  7. Here’s another fact Roger won’t like. Here is the real reason ISU wants foreign illegals. Breitbart is reporting today Biden’s immigration bill calls for universities to be compensated for “fee-paying” foreign students. In return, the students will offered “an unlimited amount of work permits” during studies and after graduation and be pushed to the front of the line to take American jobs (at a cheaper rate) than American born citizens. Students will also be offered a “15 year path to citizenship” ( just stay and work for 15 years) without hassling with the normal tests, verifications and so on. So ya Roger, it is a scam.

  8. I have mixed feelings on DACA. I work at ISU and have seen some of the kids that come through here. Do they deserve more help than someone else. Maybe….I don’t think that is for me to decide. I do 100% agree that our immigration process needs a HUGE overhaul. At a previous job, I had an employee who was Albanian, spoke 5 languages and was trying to get his mom here from Albania since his dad had passed away. He had gone through the process himself and is a citizen. He had spent thousand trying to get her here the right way. I filled out many a form for him proving his income and job stability(yes I work in HR). He had been at it for over 3 years. One day he told me it would have been cheaper for him to fly her to Mexico and have her come in that way!

    Also, to those that like to bash ISU. There are some good people who work here (yes I work at ISU). Do I agree with everything that administration puts out? NO. But saying all of us are bad, worthless, etc, lumps you into the same pot as what liberals do. I work hard and do my job very well. I VOTE. Would I wish you out of a job so that you kids and spouse would have to suffer JT? Think again.

    I like this page, Diane does a good job of bringing out topics that are mostly ignored.

    1. Thank you, Cookie. I’m in a similar position – whenever it’s time for internal upward reviews, mine can always be summarized as “ISU is not as bad as many, but if we want to be viable going forward, we need less emphasis on grievance studies and more on STEM.” I’m glad to see ISU is at least taking some steps towards the latter.
      For those who consider ISU a negative factor in the community or society, I recommend being vocal about not making donations (including purchasing tickets to games, concerts, etc) until some specific metric is met, and stick to it. (Maybe more math and chemistry grads than sociology grads? At least one non-leftist speaker per semester? Pick something, or maybe a Phase 1, Phase 2, etc approach!)
