The Systemic Racism Myth

By: Diane Benjamin

At the WGLT mayoral debate the good leftist host had to bring up systemic racism, that discussion kept him from asking about real issues. You are expected to believe minorities can not succeed because whites won’t let them. Obviously it’s a myth because their are countless successful minorities. Obviously it is a myth because of what I reported in this story: https://blnnews.com/2021/02/23/equity-rears-its-ugly-head/

The speaker went on to say “they will have to work on [educating applicants]”.

So why has judging people based on their character instead of their skin color turn into all whites are racist?

The left has nothing to run on except division. Stir up the masses to divide them along racial lines. Make sure they are too busy working for equity and social justice to see what’s really happening.

I FOIA’d the job description for Bloomington’s new Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. Instead of using the term “systemic” it got changed to “institutional”. See what I received here:

Racism is such a huge problem at the City of Bloomington they have a black Deputy City Manager:

Of course the guy in this new position, Michael Hurt, is black. He already worked for the City before getting this job: https://www.centralillinoisproud.com/news/local-news/bloomington-names-first-chief-diversity-and-inclusion-officer/

Nikita Richards, also black, is a City of Bloomington employee. Does her sign mean she buys that all whites are racist? Black lives are GREATER than whites Nikita? Maybe intuitional racism does exist! (From her Facebook page)

Obviously institutional racism doesn’t exist and neither does systemic racism. The vast majority of Americans don’t care what color you are, MLK’s vision was working. Spouting racism does keep the conversation away from the real issues of roads, constant fee increases, unfunded pensions, lavish employee benefits, and a myriad of other issues citizens want discussed. Evidently the Coliseum is going to be used for City offices and community events. No word on whether the BCPA will ever re-open or whatever the Creativity Center is and why the employees are still getting paid.

But the new Diversity and Inclusion officer will be sitting in on all job interviews!

Thanks to WGLT you didn’t learn anything except Mike Straza knows he is white and the mayor’s job is racist because minorities may not be able to spend the required 20 hours a week doing it. Yes, he said that – toward the end.

Nowhere is 20 hours required, Tari must have told him that. Tari also thought he was a developer and got to decide who the “right fit” was. Tari also anointed himself Liquor Commissioner instead of having a Board of around 7 people like Bloomington had before him as the Liquor Commission.

Does Mike know the City Manager runs the City, not the mayor? Does Jackie Gunderson know?

This statement is on the City of Bloomington website: https://www.cityblm.org/government/departments/human-resources/job-board

Laws so longer apply, see the Job description posted above. Skin color and probably ideology does matter in their quest for equity. (Not equality!)

If you forgot Tim Gleason’s speech introducing this new position, the video is in this story: https://blnnews.com/2020/10/27/bloomington-crushes-mlks-vision/

One more note: Only minorities tired of being used will end this farce.

  1. This is cultural marxist bullsh*t at its worst, fomented by stupid people.
Useful idiots who push this garbage have zero – ZERO – knowledge of history. Which inevitably repeats itself. (See below)
They expect their divide-and-conquer woke bullying at the grassroots level will earn them a seat at the bigger power table. That’s what they were promised.
But they will be the first ones – THE FIRST ONES – marked for marginalization and disposal after their usefulness has ended. Because, in the end, they are weak-minded, deceitful, and not really good for anything else.
Here is an excerpt (from Wikipedia of all places) that might be informative:

“Purges of the Communist Party in the Soviet Union (Russian: “Чистка партийных рядов”, chistka partiynykh ryadov, “cleansing of the party ranks”) was a Soviet ritual, especially during the 1920s, in which periodic reviews of members of the Communist Party were conducted by other members and the security organs to get rid of “undesirables”. Such reviews would start with a short autobiography from the reviewed person and then an interrogation of him or her by the purge commission, as well as by the attending audience. Although many people were victims of the purge throughout this decade, the general Russian public was not aware of the purge until 1937.

  2. “If you want to know who controls you, look at who you are not allowed to criticize.” Voltaire
Blacks, whites, browns and yellows should consider the famous quote and see what lies in front of their faces. Unify against that and many woes will be solved.

  3. “Obviously it’s a myth because their are countless successful minorities”

So 400 years of slavery didn’t happen? Or 150 years of Jim Crow? Redlining and Gerrymandering did not happen? Or separate and unequal education didn’t happen? I suppose voter suppression tactics like literacy tests, poll taxes to stop African Americans voting also didn’t happen. How many thousands African Americans were lynched in front of white crowds? Apparently these are all myths. Well they are NOT. Just because you as a white woman think systemic racism is a myth doesn’t make it true. Your claim “..it’s a myth because their are countless successful minorities” is totally laughable. You have not written anything that is coherent about the history of racism and race in this country. You have consistently played the victimization of whites as an actual issue. It isn’t.

It’s seems to be YOU who dividing people by race. There is a Black Deputy City Manager? Why are you bringing that up? Why are you trolling Nikita Richards Facebook page and pointing out she’s Black? I thought you didn’t judge people by their color but their character. Sounds like you are all about race and racism. The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

    1. No one disputes the injustice of African slavery in this country. That said you must also own up to the fact that without the involvement of black tribal chieftains and Arab slave traders, white slaves would have been tending to the cotton fields. Slavery has been around since the beginning of time. Doesn’t make it right but it is a fact. Same fact as Africans enslaving their own kind long before any American colonists ever thought of it. African slaves with seen in a better light than my Irish ancestors. Irish slaves and indentured servants were kept in the lowest deck on the slave boats below the Africans. When food became low, Irish slaves were thrown overboard for food for the fish and their provisions given to black slaves to eat. As they say, it’s a fact Jack. Do yourself a favor and pick up a book on white slavery. Treated just as bad if not worse. Read about the British and how they treated the Irish or how the Irish were “redlined” and denied jobs and other European types when they came to this country and had to deal with the locals. The “issue” is when are certain minorities going to stop the “grievance industry” that many have no problem making their life’s work. And yes, there is an ongoing war being waged against the white man. Stick around for about 10 years and see how bad it will get. If blacks, hispanics or Asians had been here before the European, wonder how they would have treated the European? I can. Spend some time in a country not dominated by white people as a white person and see how you are treated. You’ll see and feel the hate. This country has spent decades trying to right old wrongs and it still isn’t enough for people like you. As far as Nakita goes, she’s a phoney, a racist and an opportunist no matter what color she is or isn’t.

  4. As the USA is still less than 250 years old it is a relatively young country that has recognized slavery as wrong and abolished much sooner than others. But the race baiters will never recognize or comment about that cause that would destroy their race hating divisive narrative.

“Just because you as a white woman think systemic racism is a myth doesn’t make it true.”

At the exact same time, just because you think systemic, institutional racism is very very real ALSO doesn’t make it true. Not quite the “GOTCHA” you wanted it to be, eh?

“Your claim “..it’s a myth because their are countless successful minorities” is totally laughable.”

So all the rich, successful black people in this country are amusing to you? What’s so funny about Jay-Z, Puff Daddy, Kanye, Beyonce, Dave Chappelle, LeBron James, etc.? Why are you dismissing all the black folks in this country who have worked hard and made something of themselves? Are you seriously being racist to try to own Diane?

“You have consistently played the victimization of whites as an actual issue. It isn’t.”
” Just because you as a person think racism against whites is a myth doesn’t make it true.”

“Sounds like you are all about race and racism. The lady doth protest too much, methinks.”

*Sigh* AGAIN, I would like to point out that I didn’t give a damn about skin color, genitals, or sexual preferences of strangers UNTIL LEFTISTS TOLD ME I HAD TO CARE!! People like YOU shove that garbage in my face constantly, AND I DON’T CARE ABOUT THAT NONSENSE!! Stop making it matter, and it won’t matter. You leftys are so intent on there being racism that you don’t care that you’re essentially creating racism by shoving down everyone’s throats and making people sick to death of the entire discussion. Just stop it already.

P.S. – One of those successful minorities that you so easily dismissed as laughable is Morgan Freeman, who requests that you stop referring to him as black, because it doesn’t matter to him. Thank you for your understanding.

Me thinks you have been watching too much Trevor Noah and drinking too much of his corn syrup. Maybe turn that crap off, jump on your local Connect Transit bus(plenty of room for you to stretch out on one and brace yourself as you bounce through countless potholes on your way), take a little trip to the Bloomington Library(before the masses start over crowding it after the big upgrade), and dust of a few history books. Not the “Social” history books, but some actual history books and do some reading. If that is too much, you can always go back to trolling Jenn Carillo and Patrick Lawler’s social media sites……they are more than happy to tell you what to think, when to think it, and where to go think it.
