ASK for the write-in list

By: Diane Benjamin

When you vote you can write-in anybody you want if a line is provided. Your vote will be meaningless if that person didn’t file to run as a Write-In candidate.

Many people did file – your polling place is required to provide you with a copy of the write-in candidates if you ask.

Kathy Michael, McLean County Clerk, provided me with this list for all the elections outside of Bloomington:

Normal Township is important because the two write-ins are not on the ballot, the current Township Supervisor, (Sarah Grammer) went to court to get them thrown off.

Leroy: 3 of the 4 seats up for election are write-ins. The only choice you have is who to write-in for Ward 3. Since the two running for the other Wards will most likely show up to write themselves in, they are automatic winners. Was it too difficult to get on the ballot? Did almost everybody get thrown off the ballot?

I don’t know what the story is with the rest.

Check them out before you vote!

At least Leroy will have representation, good or bad. Downs won’t:
