When the WOKE got elected to the Bloomington City Council they hated being called Aldermen. Tari Renner agreed to call them council persons or some silly name.

Illinois law:

Since the law calls them Aldermen, I refuse to comply with the woke nonsense. Want called something else? Change the law.

What does the law say about expulsion from the Council?

Not much, Illinois citizens aren’t allowed to remove anyone from office unless they are convicted of a felony. Alderman can be tossed from meetings however:
