And now for some comedy:

By: Diane Benjamin

At the last Normal Town Council meeting Stan Nord asked about the One Voice trip – $1600 each for 3 people, not including air fare. He asked why the meetings can’t be done virtually. The three from Normal will be meeting in person with representatives from this area, other meetings will be virtual. See this clip, Koos claims changing One Voice to virtual will never happened: (less than 2 minutes)

The video below is from the Bloomington Council meeting last night. Bloomington choose not to send anyone on the One Voice trip because of Covid uncertainty but they will be participating in a few virtual meetings: (35 seconds)

Town of Normal taxpayers are funding meetings with Lahood, Davis, Durbin, and Duckworth. None of them were willing to travel to beautiful Bloomington-Normal for meetings Mr Koos?

Enjoy your vacation at taxpayers expense. Koos, Reece, and Lorenz were scheduled to go.

  1. Koos and Reece said the purpose for the trip is to lobby for Bloomington projects, NOT for Normal. Blooming can do this trip virtually but Koos and Reece can’t? I call B.S. on the reason for Koos and Reece gave that requires them to appear in person in DC.

This are your tax dollars being fleeced to send elites on a trip that Bloomington has proven is needless. Kathleen Lorenz is going too. Voters in Normal should call and ask her why she has to do this in person.

  2. Honest question why can’t they fundraise to cover the town’s costs. I’m sure there’s local businesses that’d sponsor it.

  3. “because we’ve always done it (in-person) this way for 15 years…” that comment in a private business will get you no where in your job – just continuing to do things because we’ve always done it that way….
