District 87 and Panorama

By: Diane Benjamin

In 2020 District 87 spent $21,700 on:

Social-Emotional Learning is now law in Illinois. The Illinois State Board of Education keeps changing the standards, see this link for the current plan from Kindergarten through 12th grade: https://www.isbe.net/Documents/sel-stds.pdf#search=social%20emotional

See the bottom right-hand corner of page 1. These standards don’t expect teachers to be in charge of classrooms, they put students in charge. The ultimate goal is to create activists. One accomplishment of K-3rd grade is to have classes write Letters to the Editor about community issues. Teachers are forced to waste time passing on approved values that should be the job of parents. Mental health problems in kids are increasing. Instead of helping students catch up from 2 years of lockdowns, teachers are forced to teach race ideology.

I filed a FOIA request for the actual survey, results, communication, and survey results. District 87 has refused to give me communication or the results:

District 87 must think I’m not smart enough to look up the exemption claimed for not giving me the survey results. 5 ILCS 140/7.1(r) applies to REAL ESTATE: https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/documents/000501400K7.htm

When I pointed that out they tried to claim an exemption under a totally unrelated Illinois School Students Records Act. Even though the survey wouldn’t have been difficult for them to match to the child or teacher who answered it, I don’t want individual responses. I’m sure the information was compiled and probably found race isn’t an issue for most students.

I filed a Request for Review with the Illinois Attorney General’s Public Access Division. They should be issuing a ruling soon. I hope they can see the bogus exemptions District 87 claimed making obtaining the survey data all the more vital. District 87 taxpayers paid for the survey, they deserve to see what they paid for.

The survey might prove schools districts are wasting time solving problems that don’t exist while making students mentally unstable and afraid to talk to each other because they have been labeled oppressors if they are the “wrong” color. The “right” colors now think they are oppressed when they didn’t before schools were forced to tell them they are. Equity dumbs everyone down because forced equality doesn’t allow for excellence. Your children only get one chance at an education, it shouldn’t be in today’s public schools.

See the questions I received for both students and teachers here, I doubt this was the entire survey. If you didn’t know, Panorama is the company owned by the US Attorney General’s son-in-law. (Merrick Garland, the same guy who called parents domestic terrorists)

  1. If parents only knew. I wish they would all wake up and pull their children out of public school. It is a disgusting cesspool. HOMESCHOOL is the only way (unless your private school is free from this garbage).

  2. Liberals (democrats), some of the most racist people on the planet, once again trying very, very hard to pretend like they care about black and hispanic people. For now. FOR THEIR VOTES. And then after the election, they can be forgotten about for another couple of years. But the little extra bonus that comes with this quack psychology quiz is the enormous amounts of MONEY that can be extorted from middle-class working taxpayers for bogus, dangerous teaching “programs.” Regardless of the real results of this survey, you can bet that the deals were struck long ago, the “results” will either be fabricated or twisted to justify them. Which is its purpose — along with alienating the kids to God knows what end. Divide and conquer.

  3. It might be helpful if the questionnaire included the following questions for students and teachers.
    1. How do you feel about the fact that only 30% of D87 students are proficient at English Language Arts?
    2. How do you feel about the fact that only 23% of D87 students are proficient at Math?
    3. How do you feel about the fact that only 45% of D87 students are proficient at Science?
    4. How do you feel about the fact that 68% of D87 graduates require remedial education in their college courses?

    1. Good additions! But you left off perhaps the most important one:
      5. Given the above, how do you feel about D87 spending tens of thousands of dollars on this survey instead of spending on educating your children?
