More on Normal tonight:

By: Diane Benjamin

Besides handing a big raise to Pam Reece, below are a few items on the agenda. Will $8000 more cover inflation for her? https://blnnews.com/2022/04/29/bobbleheads-vote-to-raise-pam-reeces-salary/

At the April 4th Normal meeting the council approved sending $79,612.50 to Connect Transit: https://www.normalil.gov/ArchiveCenter/ViewFile/Item/4265

Tonight they will send this to the empty bus folks: https://normal.org/ArchiveCenter/ViewFile/Item/4283

Did Normal forget to pay them in March and April, so now they are making up for the missed payments? Is this what a AAA credit rating looks like? 3 months at once!

Since the Uptown 2.0 plan is now moldy (2015):

$80,000 will be sent to (of course) Farr Associates to make a new plan. See PDF page 50 and following: https://normal.org/ArchiveCenter/ViewFile/Item/4283

Input from the public will be requested and then history shows ignored.

Since the school year is coming to a close, Chemberly Cummings will quit feeding Unit 5 kids at her Youth on a Mission meetings. Keep in mind only public school kids were invited to participate, no one from private schools, homeschooled, or lab schools. Diversity!

See PDF page 80 – they have a project to present, documentation doesn’t say what.

  1. Though you might feel ignored commenting at Normal Council meetings you might be surprised how much you might actually be heard. I encourage everyone that can to attend tonight’s meeting and voice their opinions regarding Uptown South.

  2. Maybe the Queen’s $8,000 raise should be contingent on her forfeiting her outrageous vehicle allowance to ride Connect Transit instead. Or, maybe Rivian could donate an electric truck to cart the Queen around town.

    1. Pam’s raise is $10,500.
      $ 8,000 Salary
      +$ 2,500 Paid directly into her deferred payment plan (Retirement)
      $10,500 Total
