I wonder what happened to Normal’s request?

By: Diane Benjamin

Correction: this was his hearing the last time he was appointed. No hearings are scheduled yet for his current appointment. If he isn’t confirmed by the end of this Congress this year the process starts over.

If you were wondering about Chris Koos’ appointment to the Amtrak Board, hearings are scheduled for August 6th: https://www.commerce.senate.gov/index.php/2020/8/nominations-hearing

Biden announced 5 appointments last April: https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2022/04/29/president-biden-announces-amtrak-board-member-nominees/

Remember when Normal asked for $6 million more for the underpass they refused to re-bid? https://blnnews.com/2022/05/09/no-surprise-normal-needs-6-million-more-to-build-the-underpass/

I don’t remember anyone from Normal publicly admitting the additional request.

It was penned in April, maybe some media will ask about the status. 🥱

      1. But you’re saying hearings are scheduled for August 6. That was for the 2020 nomination.

  1. Taken from Koos testimony, “In closing, I again thank President Trump and Secretary Chao for their confidence in my ability to serve on the Amtrak Board of Directors. I hope to have the opportunity to work closely with the Members and staff of this Committee as well as the entire Congress to create a more effective and efficient passenger rail system.”
Koos is thanking Trump! LMAO! Koos never ceases to amaze me as the two bit, two timing pos that he/him/itself continuously defines he/him/itself is.

      1. Tricky Dicky Durbin nominated him previously and most likely again. Trump would not approve him!

  2. Maybe they watched how he bullies his way at council meetings and figured he was too much of an a$$ for Amtrak.

  3. We need Koos on the Amtrak board. I can see his vision will be to get approval for bikes to ride on the railroad tracks. Then we can stop extending the Constitution bike trails.
