Bloomington priorities: 2025 accomplishments

By: Diane Benjamin

The video below was played at Monday’s Committee of the Whole (COW) meeting. It shows what the priorities were in 2025: Downtown. That priority hasn’t changed in decades.

The video is a little over 3 minutes long. Downtown got a about half of it.

The slide at 3:00 say 28 lane miles of roads were reconstructed. Only around 800 to go. The video doesn’t say your water rates are going up again May 1st – the final third. Of course they aren’t going to stop increasing – just not tripling in 3 years anymore.

  1. I keep hearing over and over what a fantastic boomtown community we live in form “the pros” , experts and elected officials.

Yet my eyes see the same crappy streets and sidewalks as the last 15 years. Now we being asked to ration water because ‘weather’- all while city utilities increase in price for residents.

Bloomington is in decline with a housing shortage and a glaring wage gap between private and public(city) sector employees.

When the City Manager makes more than the Governor and you can’t drive the streets without suspension damage or drink the rationed tap water – you are being played and grifted.
