Fly On The Wall: Arrest Whites?

Flying around I think I overheard Bloomington police were directed to arrest more white people. Arresting criminals without regard to color is so old fashioned! Is anyone surprised since a lawsuit against the City mentions a directive to ticket more white people? Happy New Year! Both violate the Constitution. Is DEI still alive and well?

Arena Event Reports

By: Diane Benjamin No reports are posted for Bison Games: https://www.bloomingtonil.gov/government/advanced-components/documents/-folder-2104#docan2735_6873_64 $421,948 – $344,167 – $32,301 – $841 = $44,636. $97,984 – $52,500 – $52,500 = <$7,016> It’s hard to tell if all the above applies to this show, but they apply to some show. It still looks like I’m missing some payment for this […]

Why so many Americans prefer sprawl to walkable neighborhoods

By: Diane Benjamin The title is the real article headline. If you want to read this story you have to jump through their hoops to do it. https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/interactive/2024/walkable-neighborhoods-suburban-sprawl-pollution/?tid=wa_hardregwall_auth The story was written by an immigrant from New Delhi. A few excerpts: People, however, do not live according to the preferences of planners. Pew Research Center recently […]

3 things you need to know

By: Diane Benjamin 1) . 2) Beside massive inflation, high interest rates and minimum wage increases, anybody want to help Krystle understand the housing shortage? Anyone? She’s probably never heard of supply side economics. 3) The below was received by FOIA. They are excerpts from a Daily Activity report by the Bloomington police. All of […]

The Governed did not Consent:

By: Diane Benjamin https://illinoiscomptroller.gov/financial-reports-data/data-sets-portals/chartsgraphs/asylum-seekers The Illinois Comptroller’s office lists spending on “asylum seekers” at: $478,000,000 + $144,026,636 = $622,028,636. Meanwhile the Illinois budget doesn’t balance. The House and Senate have one last lame duck session. Disastrous legislation frequently materializes because post election they don’t care about your opinion. Pritzker wants to keep every illegal and […]

Remember Carol Rofstad? Jennifer Lockmiller?

By: Diane Benjamin ISU has two unsolved campus murders. Is anyone trying to solve Jennifer Lockmiller’s murder in 1993 after Alan Beaman was declared innocent? Crickets. The Normal police haven’t solved the 49 year old murder of Carol Rofstad either. Was this a jab at Normal police? https://www.25newsnow.com/video/2024/12/23/normal-police-rigorously-working-solve-49-year-old-cold-case-killing/ Last year CI Proud and News 25 […]

Donna Boelen Resigns

By: Diane BenjaminAlderman Donna Boelen resigned from the Bloomington City Council yesterday. People paying attention to meetings know she has been participating remotely for quite awhile. The reason given was illness. I hope now she can recover from whatever is ailing her. Her voice will be missed. See this story: https://www.25newsnow.com/2024/12/23/bloomington-city-councils-senior-member-resigns-with-2-years-left-her-term/ Excerpt: Ward 2 residents […]

How many people voted the last time Bloomington elected a mayor?

By: Diane Benjamin That election was April 6, 2021. Only 21.8% of registered voters bothered to show up even with 40 days of early voting. https://results.enr.clarityelections.com/IL/Bloomington/109017/web.276013/#/turnout That link includes a coded map showing what parts of Bloomington voted more than others. It’s a despicable turnout considering District 87 and City of Bloomington are the governments […]

Who is Abby Scott?

By: Diane Benjamin Local elections are April 1st. I wanted to wait until January to post items you need to know to be informed, but evidently campaigning has already started. Electing another spouse duo means zero diversity. The City and County Boards already have spouses Cody Hendricks and Eric Hansen. This is Abby Scott and […]

Debt and Taxes

By: Diane Benjamin A 1% Sales Tax increase will be on the April 1st ballot. An organized effort to defeat it needs to start now. Your property taxes will not go down. Schools soak up every dime they can and just change the rules on producing education results. Can you afford more taxes? https://www.usdebtclock.org If […]

Eye Update

Since I’ve been writing since 2012 and many readers have been around since then I owe you an update. I had surgery last week for a detached retina that was diagnosed at a yearly eye exam. I was seeing some flashing lights and darkness at the top of my vision. Nobody explained how serious this […]

Political Double Standards in Cultural Appropriation

By: Diane Benjamin Frequently I let things go that annoy me. Below is one of things that still annoys me 2-3 days later so it gets a story. Keep in mind his wife if running for the Bloomington City Council April 1st: Abby Scott Democrat County Board member Corey Beirne posted this days ago. If […]

Tri-Valley screwing taxpayers tonight too

By: Diane Benjamin Read the agenda: https://go.boarddocs.com/il/trivalley3/Board.nsf/vpublic?open Property taxes are going up because nobody represents taxpayers. The board will also pass a resolution to get the 1% Sales Tax increase on the April 1st ballot. The only bright spot is you have people running for School Board who do care. All that is required is […]

Creating Rights that don’t exist: Krystle Able

By: Diane Benjamin Bleeding heart liberals don’t believe in personal responsibility. They use government to redistribute your money for votes. Rights come from God, not government. Government changes it’s mind depending on who is in charge and how much money they have. The right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness never change. How […]

Local Schools ready to Screw taxpayers April 1st

By: Diane Benjamin Since most registered voters won’t even know there is an election April 1st, this will be on the ballot. Dist 87 meeting tomorrow: https://district87.diligent.community/Portal/MeetingInformation.aspx?Org=Cal&Id=287 From a reader: Let’s examine the numbers. District 87 enrollment has declined from 6,528 students in 2018 to 6,120 in 2024, a 6.2% decrease. Despite this, spending per […]

Illinois Usurping the Constitution Dodge

By: Diane Benjamin The election isn’t over under Congress counts the Electoral College votes. The Illinois Secretary of State announced all electoral votes would be cast for Kamala Harris. She won Illinois so they should go to her. Alexi Giannoulias “forgot” Illinois signed a compact with 16 other states to cast all electoral votes for […]

What you probably missed

By: Diane Benjamin My eyes aren’t getting better anytime soon, so don’t be surprised if I don’t post anything for awhile. If you didn’t listen to last week’s Bloomington Public Comment you missed this one. The first speaker claimed she has a Masters Degree and has 3 part time jobs. She wants rent control because […]

Danenberger in Court

By: Diane Benjamin I wasn’t in court yesterday because of my continuing eye issues. I’m relying on the people who were there. Danenberger did not prove his case. He plans to refile. Below is the entire court document from his days in the military. When he ran for alderman we had pieces of this document. […]

2 Things

By: Diane Benjamin Marxists always blame corporations instead of what really affects prices. Krystle has another post about flight delays. Her media hasn’t told her there is a severe shortage of air traffic controllers because of DEI policies. Qualified candidates are rejected for the unqualified who don’t stay with the job. The Blaze did a […]

Status of Electric Buses: FOIA Insights

By: Diane Benjamin I FOIA’d Connect Transit for the status of the electric buses. I received the below. Keep in mind each one of these was around $1 million tax dollars. I also have emails that I can’t read because of my eye problems, stay tuned. See costs in this story: https://blnnews.com/2022/03/23/celebrate-electric-buses/

Ask John Danenberger why this happened

By: Diane Benjamin My eyes are not going to get better anytime soon. Expect fewer stories until they are. Meanwhile, this deserves an answers. In a previous but connected case his lawyer filed this motion to be removed from a case. If any lawyers read this I hope they comment about the details. I’m told […]

Really brief recap of Bloomington

I had eye surgery yesterday that is temporarily making my vision really bad. This will be the only story today. If this story has errors it’s because I can’t proof read it. Don’t worry, it will get better. Last night’s Council meeting had a bunch of Public Comments on different topics. Just hit play to […]

John Danenberger: Court 12/13

By: Diane Benjamin I wonder how State Farm would feel if they knew details. I wonder how Ward 4 would feel if they knew details. Are you sure you want to go down this road John Wyatt Danenberger? (14 day Court docket has it spelled wrong)

Bloomington tonight

By: Diane Benjamin Agenda: https://d3n9y02raazwpg.cloudfront.net/cityblm/f7405f88-5bbe-11ee-ae13-0050569183fa-791fe512-602c-4d20-98c8-ecdbbed39134-1733511009.pdf Bloomington is getting a new fire truck: $1,766,140. It will be paid from cash reserves. The Tax levy will be finalized too. The library is raising property taxes, the City isn’t. Could be a short meeting. One more note: The City is still paying Sick Leave Buy Back, hopefully not […]

40 days of early voting is a waste of money

By: Diane Benjamin The below is from the State Board of Elections website: https://www.elections.il.gov/ElectionOperations/DownloadVoteTotals.aspx Below are the Illinois vote totals from Presidential Elections in 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024. Three of the four years show 70% of registered voters voted – 2012 and 2016 were before 40 days of early voting. 2020 shows the same […]

Local pensions:

By: Diane Benjamin All of these pensions are MONTHLY! All are just for 2023. Open The Books was created so those paying the bills can look up the details. These are why taxes continue to increase. Krystle: The Truth About Social Security and Medicare Insolvency

By: Diane Benjamin This is Able’s full time job: https://blnnews.com/2024/12/05/unqualified-krystle-able/ Just to prove Krystle is uninformed, she posted this: Robert Kennedy Jr won’t have anything to do with Social Security. The Social Security Administration is a separate agency handling that. May 2024: https://budget.house.gov/press-release/social-security-and-medicare-continue-on-path-to-insolvency-trustees-confirm Social Security becomes insolvent 2033. Medicare becomes insolvent in 2036. Krystle needs […]

Unqualified Krystle Able

By: Diane Benjamin Townships in Illinois mostly duplicate what cities and towns already do. There is zero reasons for not abolishing both the Bloomington and Normal townships. Everything they do could be done by existing government without a separate line item on your tax bill. The current Normal Township Supervisor was appointed in July of […]

Catherine Metsker resigned

Metsker went from being County Board chair to abandoning the voters who elected her to serve until 2026. Since I don’t know why, let the conspiracy theories roll. How many other Republicans will abandon the sinking ship?

County Democrats won’t be Bipartisan

By: Diane Benjamin Start with this comment by a former Republican County Board member who left the state: The County Board is 12-8 democrat. That means 40% of the Board is Republican and 60% Democrat. If Mark is correct and the Executive Committee makes most of the decisions, it should reflect the 60-40 split. Of […]

Yes, an investigation is required

By: Diane Benjamin The name of the PAC to abolish the Auditor’s office was: McLean County Citizens for Government Accountability. If they actually believed that they would abolish the unaccountable Bloomington Election Commission. This PAC is not required to file reports with the State of Illinois unless contributions exceeded $5000. No reports have been filed. […]

Almost Every Unit of Local Government plans to steal from you

By: Diane Benjamin Most local units of government will be on the April 1st ballot. Most of registered voters won’t both to vote. That makes theft easy. How are they stealing your money? By taxing you on unrealized gains through property taxes. The value of your house has increased but you will never see that […]

Who is going to explain this one?

By: Diane Benjamin This picture is from the video YESTERDAY of the new County Board Chair Lizzy Johnston: This picture of all the Democrat Board members is also from yesterday – Krystle Able’s Facebook page: Virtue Signaling? Why did Lizzy wear a mask and then not wear a mask? She’s a lot closer to that […]

Bloomington’s “Structural Deficit”

By: Diane Benjamin The below was sent to City of Bloomington employees by City Manager Jeff Jurgens before the November 18th Council meeting. (Yes I’ve got a stockpile of things I haven’t gotten around to writing about!) Expect “structural deficit” to raise it’s ugly head again. That was Tari Renner’s excuse for raising taxes. Under […]

New County Board Chair

By: Diane Benjamin Two County Board members were absent: Bloomfield and Reeves. Both are Republicans. Lea Cline was elected temporary chair. She had the audacity to nominate Elizabeth Johnston for Board Chair. She was unanimously approved. We see over and over laws are immaterial. Both parties voted to make her Board Chair. This is the […]
