Local Schools ready to Screw taxpayers April 1st

By: Diane Benjamin

Since most registered voters won’t even know there is an election April 1st, this will be on the ballot.

Dist 87 meeting tomorrow: https://district87.diligent.community/Portal/MeetingInformation.aspx?Org=Cal&Id=287

From a reader:

Let’s examine the numbers. District 87 enrollment has declined from 6,528 students in 2018 to 6,120 in 2024, a 6.2% decrease. Despite this, spending per pupil has surged by 42.6%, from $11,802 in 2019 (oldest data available) to $16,830 in 2024. The total district expenditure has grown from $73,986,178 in 2019 to $92,629,633 in 2024—a 25.2% increase. These figures raise serious questions about the district’s fiscal management and whether additional revenue is truly necessary.

Furthermore, this year’s proposed 8% property tax levy increase adds to an already heavy burden on homeowners. For example, the average property taxes in McLean county have risen 18% in just the past 3 years, the lionshare of which goes to the schools. On top of this, the average home’s assessed value just went up 19%  this past October. The message is clear: higher taxes are coming.

Illinois policy institute research indicates that the vast majority of school districts which have passed this tax end up still raising properly taxes, even when they promised property tax relief. https://www.illinoispolicy.org/meet-the-company-pushing-sales-tax-hikes-across-illinois/

Surprise Surprise!

Unit 5 is doing the same thing tomorrow night: https://meetings.boardbook.org/Public/Agenda/1482?meeting=665539

These schools are also raising property taxes. Both think you are busy with Christmas and won’t notice they want to fleece you out of even more money.

I’m sure other districts are doing the same thing. Schools NEVER have enough of your money.

When 20% or less vote April 1st the unions will be the ones taxing you to death because they actually vote.

  1. Many school districts want to pass an additional one percent sales tax for local schools. Very little push back from voters/taxpayers yet …

  2. Local Democrats and their progressive core of local office holders along with WellPaid™️ administrative staff have already raised your taxes – this will just add to your tax bill even more ! Wait until next year it will even be worse .

And don’t forget to do as you’re told and vote YES for the upcoming tax referendum appearing on you next ballot … “for the schools”…. fools 🤑

  3. Also District 87 is willing to break laws to keep child criminals in their schools when their parents are a part of the local government. Cheers to public school!
