By: Diane Benjamin This started with global cooling, that flipped to global warming. Climate Change was then the name picked so they didn’t have to reverse course again. This is a screen shot from the Unit 5 agenda, see item 16: https://meetings.boardbook.org/Public/Agenda/1482?meeting=660148 Illinois democrats passed a law mandating this as part of the curriculum. It […]
By: Diane Benjamin Remember the Solar project proposed for eastern McLean County on prime farmland? https://www.wglt.org/local-news/2025-06-25/deriva-energy-proposes-300-megawatt-solar-farm-in-eastern-mclean-county It’s dead. Yes, I heard it from a reliable source.
By: Diane Benjamin 1) Nayoka Griffis was just elected to the Normal Township Board last April. She quit already with no explanation given by Krystle Able who posted she is accepting applications to fill the seat. You have to prove you are democrat. 2) Another No Kings protest Saturday. Why are friends and neighbors struggling […]
By: Diane Benjamin . Those pictures are from Maroa Il – the site of a former solar farm that didn’t survive storms on 8/18. No reports blame anything but severe storms. https://www.wandtv.com/community/maroa-solar-farm-suffered-significant-damage-from-overnight-storms/article_a6e03577-0e19-480c-bc3c-e931c0e4e753.html I did see a report on Facebook of power outages close to Bloomington. Ameren blamed this solar farm wreckage. The power grid has […]
By: Diane Benjamin Agenda: https://granicus_production_attachments.s3.amazonaws.com/cityblm/334d59458cb7051d070970f18fdb52b10.pdf A Public Hearing and vote are on the agenda to annex 74.5 acres on Lutz Road for a solar farm. Under state law the solar farm can’t be stopped, so opposition isn’t possible. Once built this farm will be using city water to clean the panels. Unless they buy trucked […]
By: Diane Benjamin Illinois is going to lose the AI war because of the Democratic Party’s war on fossil fuels. AI takes MASSIVE amounts of energy, wind and solar can never produce enough and it’s too expensive. Of course citizens are already seeing the electricity price increases because of these failed policies. Under Illinois law […]
By: Diane Benjamin The State of Illinois stole the ability of downstate counties to deny green energy projects for any reason. If Chicago needs electricity, the state authorizes the raping of prime farmland downstate. The developer of the proposed eastside solar farm can not be stopped unless a lawsuit against the State of Illinois for […]
Printed below is what reader sent to me. The writer wants to remain anonymous. Yes, the power generated, just like the wind turbines, will be sent to Chicago. The quality of life in McLean County suffers because Chicago is raping local farmland for electricity they aren’t allowed to generate themselves. In my opinion the County […]
By: Diane Benjamin The proposed solar farm east of Bloomington isn’t contiguous: . Read this story: https://www.acentech.com/yes solar farms can produce noise Excerpts: The transformers in the solar facility are used to step-up the voltage for easier transmission into the local electrical grid. There are three sources of noise from within the transformer: (1) core […]
By: Diane Benjamin The country is a dirty place. My vehicle parked in the garage with no doors open gets covered with fine dirt. Tilling and planting creates blowing dirt, harvesting does too. Sometimes it gets really bad – May 16, 2025 filmed looking out my garage door window: . Did you know dirty solar […]
By: Diane Benjamin Do people making laws, like completely eliminating fossil fuels by 2025, ever bother with facts? Wind turbines don’t work without fossil fuels. If the goal was to decrease the temperature, solar farms aren’t the answer. They actually increase the temperature. This link is highly scientific, like using photovoltaic (PV) renewable energy production […]
By: Diane Benjamin If you have swallowed “Climate Change” propaganda, you aren’t looking at facts. Try this one: . Prefer a list? Here it is, a few states don’t match because the above is newer than this list: https://www.factmonster.com/math-science/weather/record-highest-temperatures-by-state In case you forgot, remember when another Ice Age was imminent because of global cooling? When […]
By: Diane Benjamin This is the first post of what might be many. The County and Tri-Valley are only seeing dollar signs. Tri-Valley will get used to the property tax increases and then, as the farm depreciates which decreases property values, district taxpayers will be taxed more. The same thing happened with wind turbines. Will […]
By: Diane Benjamin Last Friday I attended the annual Corn Belt Energy meeting. These aren’t boring, they throw in enough humor and fun to keep my interest. (Which they wouldn’t if all they did was read financial statements!) I found out why Corn Belt rates aren’t skyrocketing while Ameren rates are. Corn Belt buys electricity […]
By: Diane Benjamin META and Constellation Energy announced the Clinton Nuclear Power plant would provide a lot of electricity for META. https://blnnews.com/2025/06/06/nuclear-could-have-saved-farmland/ See this story: https://dceo.illinois.gov/news/press-release.28370.html In 2023 Pritzker celebrated the opening of a META data center in Dekalb County. This line is in the story: Meta also has upcoming projects in DeWitt and Morgan […]
By: Diane Benjamin Illinois passed a law 4 years ago to make the entire State Carbon Free. Carbon is actually carbon dioxide which means the environmentalists who talked the state into this bill don’t want people living here either. We all exhale it. Suddenly the future requires massive amounts of power wind and solar can’t […]
By: Diane Benjamin According to this story, Ameren rates are increasing 50% from June 1 – September 30: https://khqa.com/news/local/ameren-illinois-customers-face-50-electricity-rate-hike-from-june-1-due-to-new-pricing Do some homework! This is a state website listing alternative suppliers. The Ameren rate is before the 50% increase, you would have to contact the others to see if their rates are increasing. I have no […]
By: Diane Benjamin A Livingston County wind company is running commercials promoting yet another wind farm. Evidently they are trying to gain public support. Yes, property tax money is generated. Yes, some electricity is generated – if the wind is blowing. Yes, the turbines leak oil. Yes, a backup energy source is required for when […]
By: Diane Benjamin Send thank you cards to the green weenies who think wind and solar can produce the electricity we need. Neither can as evidenced by the new interest in nuclear energy because of the massive amount of electricity needed by AI. Green has always been a scam to limit your access and raise […]
By: Diane Benjamin WGLT published this story concerning the new electric aggregation contract both Bloomington and Normal agreed to: https://www.wglt.org/local-news/2025-04-16/some-electric-bills-in-bloomington-normal-are-about-to-go-up A friend sent me the letter Constellation Energy sent to all customers. It has no information about the new contract, but it does have the price customers paid through 12/31/24: .0785 The WGLT story rounds […]
By: Diane Benjamin https://www.wglt.org/local-news/2025-04-16/some-electric-bills-in-bloomington-normal-are-about-to-go-up Excerpt: The new rate starting in June will be close to 40% higher than what energy customers are currently paying — with rates rising from $.07 to nearly $.11 per kilowatt hour. MUCH higher electric bills follow Bloomington raising water rates May 1st by another THIRD for what they deemed “generational” […]
By: Diane Benjamin Biden’s war on fossil fuels will be ending. So will the tax rebates and grants for alternative expensive energy. Did you know most solar panels are made in China? They aren’t using them but are more than willing to export them to countries who think solar can replace fossil fuels: https://www.sunsave.energy/solar-panels-advice/solar-energy/where-are-solar-panels-made Tomorrow […]
By: Diane Benjamin If you think electricity comes from a switch on the wall, keep reading. Illinois thinks 100 renewable electricity is possible. It isn’t. Start with this story to understand the difference between baseload and intermittent production: https://icl.coop/the-difference-between-baseload-and-intermittent-power/ That editorial was in the August issue of Illinois Country Living Magazine sent to Corn Belt […]
By: Diane Benjamin I posted a screen shot of the US Debt Clock on July 29th. That was TWELVE days ago. US National Debt then was $35,003,234,351,843. Debt per citizen was $103,827. Today it is $104,225. Debt today: By the end of today the Federal government will have added $150 BILLION to the debt in […]
By: Diane Benjamin Saturday when I was driving across Bloomington my vehicle said the temperature was 92. When I passed the airport it jumped to 94. At my country house it was only 89. What that proves is “record temperatures” depend on where the temperature is taken. This story is in the latest issue of […]
By: Diane Benjamin This is a link to a 52 page report on electricity nationwide: https://www.nerc.com/pa/RAPA/ra/Reliability%20Assessments%20DL/NERC_SRA_2024.pdf If you need a nap, try reading it. Jump to page 51. Illinois is in PJM (reference PDF page 27). Both wind and solar are underperforming, see ACTUAL vs. EXPECTED. Forced outages in PJM are second only to Quebec. […]
By: Diane Benjamin This video is of wind turbines near Broadwell Il. It was WINDY yesterday, but none of them were turning. I saw a small solar field on the west side of I55 too, a nice hail storm will destroy it. Only the un-informed would believe either will provide enough energy to fuel the […]
By: Diane Benjamin People lie. Politicians lie. Freedom of Speech is written into the 1st Amendment because the authors thought people were smart enough to hear all sides, inform themselves, and then make decisions based on informed thought. There is no such thing and Mis and Dis information. There are only elites who want to […]
By: Diane Benjamin EV owners don’t pay motor fuel taxes, even though they drive on the same roads as those of you who do. Buy an EV (that most people can’t afford) and the taxpayers will subsidize it with a tax credit. In 10 years, that EV will likely be junk because replacing the batteries […]
By: Diane Benjamin Australia is destroying forests to erect wind turbines. This video shows the destruction of the environment while pretending to save it: It all revolves around the myth the atmosphere is going to burn up because of carbon. Of course the rest of that carbon is left off to make it sound like […]
By: Diane Benjamin The Bloomington City Council was back to meeting in the Government Center last night. The Committee of the Whole last week was also back. Initially the Council was to meet at the BCPA on July 24th and all 3 August meetings. Note the work wasn’t done until the 10/15 meeting. It appears […]
By: Diane Benjamin These things only exist because of the FAKE WAR on fossil fuels while they require fossil fuels to work. In case you missed this story: https://www.thecollegefix.com/more-than-1600-scientists-and-other-scholars-sign-no-climate-emergency-declaration/ I’ve done many stories about oil leaking from turbines. Where do you think that leaking oil ends up? You think it stays on the turbine? It […]
By: Diane Benjamin The fire was on CRP land – Conservation Reserve Program. The Federal government pays farmers not to plant crops, supposedly on environmentally sensitive land. The land the fire was on looks just like every other field except for no crops other than what I call weeds. This land has been CRP for […]

This is a time to prove your grilling talents. Sign-up can be done on the day of the event at the American […]
By: Diane Benjamin Have you noticed CT is “wrapping” the bus windows so you can’t see the bus it 99% empty? In May Connect Transit wrote Proterra a check for $3,524,229 for more electric buses. I hope they were delivered because Proterra declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy 2 days ago. Good luck getting parts! Proterra is […]
By: Diane Benjamin The climate change pushers ignore facts. When they claim the earth is burning because of fossil fuels they use temperatures since the 1960’s when a new ice age was being predicted. They will not tell you the 1930’s were hotter than now! https://www.extremeweatherwatch.com/cities/bloomington-normal/month-august Why were the 1930’s so hot? It certainly wasn’t […]
By: Diane Benjamin If you haven’t opted out of electric aggregation in Bloomington and Normal you are paying than than you could have because both councils chose the higher “green energy” rate. At the last County Board meeting they did the same thing. The Board voted 16-3 to pay $41,776 more for “green” electricity than […]
By: Diane Benjamin It is a glorious beautiful morning! The Canadian smoke is gone for now. Since there is close to NO wind the turbines aren’t turning. I found a newspaper yesterday from October 8, 2006. Then Gov Rod Blagojevich flew in via helicopter to announce a $2.2 million grant to build the first 120 […]
This is across the street from me in rural Ellsworth. It didn’t look like this last week!
By: Diane Benjamin Yesterday’s story: https://blnnews.com/2023/06/29/update-on-olympias-solar-panel-fire/ Anybody surprised administration claims to have saved a lot of money on electricity when the schools were closed for COVID? You need to review this story too: https://blnnews.com/2021/05/27/tesla-solar-panel-fires/ I don’t know the complete story but this law firm contacted Olympia, they are probably suing the manufacturer. The sender must […]
