Two meetings ago Kathleen Lorenz suddenly started voting against the “professional staff” and even started asking questions about bills. She was part of the gang when meetings were less than 1/2 hour long because nothing was questioned.
She didn’t like my headline however: https://blnnews.com/2022/03/22/kathleen-lorenz-is-running-for-re-election/
In case it’s too hard to read, this is the text:
Someone told me you have a headline stating I’m running again for re-election. Yikes, that’s news to me. I won’t actually make that decision until later this year. It’s one that I like to carefully weigh, with family and my employer.
To that end, I’m wondering if you would be open to modifying your headline to a question, like “Is Kathleen running for re-election?” so as to not cause any baseless rumors? If not, I’ll understand.
Also, I am sorry to hear that you didn’t get my reasons for questioning those bill items. If you would like, give me a call and I’d be happy to explain my vote further.
All the best,
Normal doesn’t charge to plug in EV’s, Koos stated at a Council meeting it would cost too much to install equipment to do that. According to this story, charging a Rivian from 20% to 80% isn’t cheap.
I’ve heard a Springfield legislator from Chicago with a Tesla stops off in Normal for a charge. Why not – it’s free!
Green Energy is going to cost you – thank the State of Illinois. Corn Belt customers will be affected too.

Add this story about natural gas. Just Pennsylvania could supply Germany’s entire country. If Biden didn’t have a war on fossil fuels, prices here would drop. Electricity produced with natural gas would be cheaper too. https://www.shaledirectories.com/blog-1/four-pennsylvania-counties-can-supply-all-the-gas-germany-needs/

So are you going to give Kathy a call to hear her explain her vote further?
