Property taxes are going up because nobody represents taxpayers.
The board will also pass a resolution to get the 1% Sales Tax increase on the April 1st ballot.
The only bright spot is you have people running for School Board who do care. All that is required is voting April 1st or the 40 days before.
Unfortunately Downs has a dismal record of showing up for local elections.
Your property taxes are going up because your elected local democrats and their well paid staff minions said they are going up.
Don’t worry “Machine Learning” and “Large Language Models” and AI will save us all in county and schools and create a new “education” and learning world (and you get to pay for it and contracts and pensions for life). Just let us use your kids as our “test” pool and in Human Factors predictive “Behavior Analysis” and “Public Safety” models and change the world. Then add those 8th grade surveys in and WOW what a win for us.
The (money funnel and narratives for innovation and projects) exploits everyone. Including taxpayers and risk management and governance has gone down a huge dark road while TV and other schools and district call themselves leaders in community.
Systematic and procedural “transformation” costs a lot. Get use to it folks. Schools have become a joke and were bad back in the day but clearly worse now but your money is never enough and never will be (optics are everything). Keep paying for those fundraises and booster clubs so they can keep their so-called opportunities for their kids. Heard that one for decades….
