Political Double Standards in Cultural Appropriation

By: Diane Benjamin

Frequently I let things go that annoy me. Below is one of things that still annoys me 2-3 days later so it gets a story. Keep in mind his wife if running for the Bloomington City Council April 1st: Abby Scott

Democrat County Board member Corey Beirne posted this days ago. If he was a Republican he would be called a racist or worse. Since he isn’t, it must be acceptable to culturally appropriate another person’s race. Is his Unit 5 job is too tough for him? Maybe he should cancel all future kid concerts.

Note fellow black County Board member Beverly Bell clapped for him. Of course she’s a Democrat too.

It’s only a matter of time before some local Republican is called a racist. Keep this post in mind when it happens. It will be a clear case of the same rules don’t apply when it’s convenient for political purposes.

  1. And Beirne does have his “intrusive thoughts” doesn’t he. 🤪
Although he’s been rather quiet lately. Maybe the district told him to tone it down after quizzing his grade schoolers on his LGBTQIA+ flag in the classroom.

  2. Beirne is a hard core socialist progressive – hard to even believe people in that part of town actually voted for him. I suspect he will have an opponent in his next election and will lose.

Is it true Mrs. Bell can’t read ? She can clap and nod in the affirmative this much is known.
