By: Diane Benjamin Cody violated City Code. Did Abby Scott do it too? See: https://blnnews.com/2025/03/23/fly-on-the-wall-cody-hendricks/ Will the McLean County Chamber of Commerce withdraw their endorsement of Kearns? If elected officials and those who want to be elected violate laws, why should anyone else obey them? These people are leading the City down a dangerous road. […]

By: Diane Benjamin Start by reading this story: https://www.wglt.org/local-news/2025-01-17/bloomington-couple-acquitted-for-felony-theft-by-deception The Lacey’s mainly did infusions. Since I had no idea what that meant, I asked them yesterday. The infusions are customized for people like cancer patients where vitamins and minerals are needed to make them feel better. They don’t use any regulated drugs. They are both […]

The way this incident was handled had 6 parents speak at the September Board meeting according to the minutes. Other parents present didn’t speak. Maybe transparency is a better option than Mouser’s “don’t tell your parents”? […]
By: Diane Benjamin In case you forgot, this development was opposed by area property owners because they feared it would devalue their property: https://blnnews.com/2022/07/31/north-normal-normal-and-barickman-want-to-devalue-your-property/ Normal resident Doug Fansler was concerned when the Town gave preferential treatment to a developer. By: Diane Benjamin I was at the Casey’s in Normal yesterday that was looted. A copy of the Pantagraph was laying on the counter, I asked an out of town friend who grew up here if she had heard about it. The clerk behind the counter started telling us about what happened. He was obviously […]
By: Diane Benjamin I only got involved because the director of Recycling Furniture for Families contacted me since funding was cut off without a good explanation. Everyone was blaming PATH for failure to file grant applications. This resulted in loss of funding for numerous organizations and jobs at PATH when funding for hotline employees was […]
By: Diane Benjamin Maybe schools wouldn’t need more funding if they weren’t required to educate illegal alien kids that only the far left think have a right to be here. We are forced to pay for illegal immigration without a vote. https://www.wglt.org/local-news/2024-09-05/mclean-county-school-administrators-ponder-a-countywide-sales-tax-after-failed-effort-in-2014 Read the article. Public schools are now horrendous. School administrators want a 1% […]
By: Diane Benjamin The property Normal is going to build a new Fire Station on is 1.69 acres. By: Diane Benjamin News organizations had difficulty with the truth this weekend. Which of the below was more accurate? CNN lost all credibility with their headline: . Local media was no different. By: Diane Benjamin From 2015: https://blnnews.com/2015/08/04/more-ineptness/ That story has details of how much taxpayer money was wasted on the water tower Bloomington built in northeast Normal. It has never been used. This is where it is: . This water tower is never mentioned. According to WGLT, Bloomington broke ground on a new tower in south […]
By: Diane Benjamin Separation of church and state is not explicitly mentioned in the Constitution or law. The Bible was the first textbook used in schools. Money wouldn’t say “In God We Trust,” and the top of the Washington Monument wouldn’t say “Laus Deo” if our forebearers wanted God removed from public life. The Latin […]

By: Diane Benjamin April 28th will mark 12 years for BlnNews.com. I only started writing because I saw lousy local reporting on things that matter. For once he is very transparent in what he did say: https://www.wglt.org/local-news/2024-04-02/mayor-of-normal-town-does-not-owe-alan-beaman-a-further-statement The case was filed by Alan Beaman in 2014. By: Diane Benjamin Alderman Tom Crumpler gave an impassioned speech pertaining to the plight of illegals and local housing. Of course his version is “migrants”. He based his comments on this WGLT story: https://www.wglt.org/local-news/2024-03-22/it-is-difficult-right-now-housing-coalition-cites-ongoing-challenges-in-bloomington-normal A couple of points that are evidently way over Tom’s head: “Migrants” are abused long before they illegally enter the country. By: Diane Benjamin The City of Bloomington wants to condemn the Front and Center building since it’s been sitting empty for a long time. WGLT reported: https://www.wglt.org/local-news/2024-02-29/bloomington-condemns-landmark-downtown-building-at-front-and-center If the current owners object, taxpayers get to fund a court battle. With or without legal fees taxpayers will get the demolition cost which includes asbestos removal. Keep […]
By: Diane Benjamin More from this story on the local Housing Assessment: https://blnnews.com/2024/03/05/ignoring-the-elephant-in-the-room/ PDF page 32 – copied and reformatted since the paragraph is difficult to read: Poverty levels have increased in McLean County over the last 5 years, Bloomington and Normal. By: Diane Benjamin 1) In April I will have been writing for TWELVE YEARS. Actually page views went over 10,000,000 a few years ago, but lots of views aren’t officially counted because many of you are Following BlnNews.com and getting an email for every story written. All of those reads aren’t included in the totals. […]
By: Diane Benjamin Remember this story? https://blnnews.com/2024/02/07/is-normal-doing-a-secret-survey/ I wrote that story on February 7th. On February 12th WGLT did this story: https://www.wglt.org/local-news/2024-02-12/normal-seeking-public-feedback-on-future-environmental-priorities The Town of Normal is doing that survey. See this quote by Town Planner Mercy Davidson in the story: . Let me interpret: This survey is only for supporters of the Town agenda. If you don’t believe in their […]
By: Diane Benjamin District 87 students score well below State averages in English and Math. See last year’s scores here: https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/District.aspx?source=trends&Districtid=17064087025 The district spends $15,000 per student for this substandard education. (Click District Snapshot at the link above) 34% are chronically absent, the graduation rate is an appalling 79%. I find it fascinating that WGLT can normalize stories like […]
By: Diane Benjamin Everyone should know by now the Coliseum never performed as sold to the citizens of Bloomington: It will never cost you a dime! Billy Tyus, Deputy City Manager, admitted the obvious to WGLT: https://www.wglt.org/local-news/2024-02-01/with-hockey-team-in-place-bloomington-looks-to-bring-arena-back-to-life?fbclid=IwAR1YSf-4fJksOpolUowyg7i2Qz9WmQlSCllxjwsP0BTE2Yb7G6tkVC6F_6k Excerpt: Note: The hockey team won’t be around long if they have to help the city recoup costs. Meanwhile, Mike Matejka who […]
By: Diane Benjamin I have not finished reading everything I received. There is likely more to report. Make sure you read to the bottom. Connect’s General Manager doesn’t want you to know any of this. Refer back to the HUGE November loss: https://blnnews.com/2024/01/23/connect-loses-more-than-the-coliseum/ Salaries were almost twice normal. I thought Connect had a hiring spree of drivers and were no longer […]
By: Diane Benjamin I don’t comment on NextDoor but reading the comments is interesting. Somebody posted this story: https://www.wglt.org/local-news/2024-01-16/bloomington-mayor-says-migrant-arrivals-are-an-opportunity The comments below prove the immigration extremists showed up at the County Board meeting to protest Chuck Erickson’s ordinance. The opposite side stayed home and vented on their keyboard. Which side affects votes by elected officials? Obviously, not most of these […]

Since few vote Mboka could easily be re-elected by the majority who vote socialist. He won’t run as a socialist because that’s a loser, he just needs to act socialist. Read the story, he welcomes people illegally in this […]
By: Diane Benjamin Beginning the path to being REAL NEWS started when WGLT reported this: https://blnnews.com/2023/11/17/3-things-you-need-to-know-4/ . Unit 5 won’t tell you how many of those students are ‘immigrants”, they claim they don’t ask. This week WGLT did journalism again: https://www.wglt.org/local-news/2024-01-11/immigration-advocate-says-dozens-of-bused-migrants-are-already-living-in-mclean-county Bused illegals from the southern border are already here! The Immigration Project can’t say exactly how many however: […]
By: Diane Benjamin From 2009-2010 Democrats controlled all 3 branches of government. Joe Biden had the same thing in 2021 when the Senate was 50-50 giving Kamala Harris the tie breaking vote. They could have legalized illegal immigrants and DACA and recipients all by themselves, they didn’t even try. If they care so much about “migrants” why didn’t they? […]

The word “democracy” does not appear anywhere in the Constitution, therefore his claim that a “constitutional democracy” can be lost is a lie. Democracy is mob rule which is exactly what this filing is – the […]
By: Diane Benjamin Constitution: Article 4, Section 4: The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; Open borders is an invasion. By: Diane Benjamin 1) Did the City of Bloomington really tell the Salvation Army they can’t use mats so homeless have a place to sleep on cold nights because it’s too dangerous? Interference in the process is why housing is unaffordable. One thing is certain: Additional housing can’t be created next month. It takes time and creating a Community Land Trust isn’t going to fix anything quickly. They […]
